The package was sent to St.James Palace where their offices are run, they only personally open mail which has a secret coding on it, this package would have been delivered to the post room in St.James , doubt they would have known the following day.

Probably some complete nut job thinking they were being really funny. The royals were never in any danger as I doubt they ever open the Mail. I pity the person who does though.

The package was sent to cause fear and distress; irrelevant to attempt to prioritise the importance of its contents.
What does impress is that the package was received on Monday 12th of February; the following day the couple went walkabout in Edinburgh.

The relevance must involve the racist letter and the package that was clearly intended to cause fear and distress. It isn't simply the racism that is dreadful. If a similar package had been sent to anyone, especially someone in the public eye, the media would have covered that story as well.

Actually dj I don’t think the person is ‘sick’ - that suggests an aberration. I think racism is rife in the UK and it’s only because it’s the RF that this is in the news. I wonder how many individual acts of racism there have been today?

eazybee I can't see why that is wrong. I watched a documentary about it and there was a man from Canada who was known to be descended from Richard III and so they took his DNA and it proved that the bones in the car park were Richard III's - so Richard III was his ancestor and he had been found. Maybe I am missing something?

The confusion over descendant/ relative is entirely due to sloppy preparation on the part of the reporter. I heard one reporter talk about the living man who provided DNA to identify Richard lll as his ancestor.

Just listened to it again on iplayer. She definitely said the Queen Mother was a direct descendant of John Bowes, the founder of the Bowes Museum.

Was that on the BBC? I heard one of the newsreaders say something similar - another person, another 'ancestor' who didn't have any children but I can't remember who now.
