Olga...I think Kathsue is right..the father will be assessed as to his suitability and if he "fails" then the child will be placed in foster care with, I would think, adoption a possibility in the future.
That seems to be the way these situations are dealt with. Sorry Olga, I understand that is little comfort to you.

Presumably they haven’t assessed dad yet? I’m sure they’d jump at that option if he’s suitable. Hope it all works out for you!

Just because the father has come forward it doesn't mean he will automatically get the child. As Social services and the courts are already involved I'm sure they will work in the best interests of the child to decide who she will live with. So yes they could still place the baby in foster care if they think it's the best place for her.
