M&S Curve

That coat looks like it's been savaged by a pit bull.

I can't understand these jumpers with holes in the shoulders that were (are still?) everywhere. If it's cold enough for a jumper why would you want holes in it?! Mad.

Ha ha ! love some of the comments about THAT coat ...agree it is totally hideous (but well done for the size of the model ! makes a nice change !) Haven't bought anything from M & S of late, since they banned anyone living in France from using the UK site ...prices in the French store are higher even when converted from Euros to pounds ..the choice is terrible, and the Curve range appalling. I am a large size and tall, clothes are not long enough, sleeves are not long enough and styles are awful ...WHY on earth have the deserted their loyal customers and tried to attract the younger market ...in my opinion, having spoken to young people, NO ONE said they will shop at M & S...such a shame, always used to be my go to shop ......now I have nowhere to go except Long Tall Sally or C & A or online in France ! [cry]

I don't like those holey jumpers either HMcO - they are apparently called 'cold shoulder' jumpers.
Pointless in any weather - in the winter why get cold and in the summer you'd have to keep putting suntan lotion on that bit.

The model is young as well VIOLETTE - hardly the demographic that would shop there anyway

All hideous. Awful colours, unflattering styles, just nasty. Such a shame they haven’t done their research. I could have designed a more suitable collection.

Oh yuk. I used to be on their panel and just gave up because I never liked anything.
I buy bras, knickers, jeans, some t-shirts + food from M&S and that's about it. Such a shame. Oh and thermal tops for walking, really good selection and a lot cheaper than 'walking shop' brands.

Not once have I ever bought clothes from M&S as overpriced frumpy. However very interested in sleeveless mac. Must have a look. I hate coats and always wear Gillettea padded and fur with smart thick cardigans, in all weathers.

I wouldn’t even do the gardening in it ! Very ugly and very unflattering !

Have you not noticed that it's marketed as a midi but It's knee length. Mini = mid thigh, midi = calf length (like some of Kate, DoC's dresses) and maxi = ankle length. Anything knee length doesn't need an explanation. We can see that it's not mid calf length and I have spoken to M&S about this.

How tall is the model?
Sometimes it tells you 'Model is size ?? and 5' 10"' so that could be mid-calf on me

Exactly Jalima. In the product description it says the back length from the neck to the hem is 120cm, on a size 24, easy enough to get out a tape measure and check where it would come to.
Or you could even go into the shop and try it on!

I miss the vast range of coloured t shirts and the jeans.

I also saw it on This morning. Phillip Schofield didn't like it as he thought a coat should have sleeves. It's just awful and would make anyone look overweight.

I went into our local branch and took an armful of trousers to try on. On the plus side they were much better fitting round the waist than their trousers usually are but they were all black, all nasty shiny fabrics, and all skinny legs. I tried the embroidered jeans, which I thought a bit pricey (and actually a bit too big for me!) didn't bother with the ripped ones because really!! A nice young manager was putting the stock out so I gave her a quick run down of the comments from here and a she assured me she would pass them on - at least she didn't tell me everybody loves it!

Well, I went into M&S Princes Street, but the Curve collection doesn't seem to have reached Edinburgh yet, in spite of Scottish women in general being rather curvy.

I did find that there were more of the larger sizes than are usually found (still not nearly enough) so they may be dispersed among the other stock. Heaven knows, there are enough separate collections to search through already. The styles and colours are not flattering. Why do they think that people with older complexions and hair (their core market in any size) will look good in hard mustards, royal blues, viridians and bruise purples?

In the underwear department, they had what I think is new in, smooth-line briefs that show no visible panty line. They are seamless, the leg hems have no hems, and the waist elastic is smooth. There isn't even a label to break the line.

Great, I thought, and bought a couple of pairs. But if you have (ahem) a round tummy then DON'T DO IT. The smooth waist elastic is so soft that they gradually slide down over the hips to lie in a horizontal roll as low as they can get without falling off completely.

Probably OK if you have a wasp waist.

M&S have never been any good at colour.
I can’t remember the last thing I bought there that wasn’t black, white, or grey!

We popped in yesterday for other things and went to look at the range in person.

It’s totally underwhelming !

That coat is as hideous in the flesh as it is in a photo . The styles aren’t that flattering and all in all both myself and my 32 yr old daughter agreed there were far better plus size choices in other stores.

I had a look at this range on line and was relieved to reflect that I have now lost enough of my 'curves' not to need to even think about it!
