M&S Curve

I don't like those holey jumpers either HMcO - they are apparently called 'cold shoulder' jumpers.
Pointless in any weather - in the winter why get cold and in the summer you'd have to keep putting suntan lotion on that bit.

Ha ha ! love some of the comments about THAT coat ...agree it is totally hideous (but well done for the size of the model ! makes a nice change !) Haven't bought anything from M & S of late, since they banned anyone living in France from using the UK site ...prices in the French store are higher even when converted from Euros to pounds ..the choice is terrible, and the Curve range appalling. I am a large size and tall, clothes are not long enough, sleeves are not long enough and styles are awful ...WHY on earth have the deserted their loyal customers and tried to attract the younger market ...in my opinion, having spoken to young people, NO ONE said they will shop at M & S...such a shame, always used to be my go to shop ......now I have nowhere to go except Long Tall Sally or C & A or online in France ! [cry]

That coat looks like it's been savaged by a pit bull.

I can't understand these jumpers with holes in the shoulders that were (are still?) everywhere. If it's cold enough for a jumper why would you want holes in it?! Mad.

Their current range of clothing seems particularly awful - colour and style wise amd I have always loved M and S

I never buy clothing at M & S and never will. I frequent the bra department twice a year and sometimes the food halls. That's my lot.

My personal opinion is if it wasn't for the food halls M & S would have joined the long line of department and traditional older stores in liquidation.

That's a very unflattering coat thingy whatever shape you are. M&S seems to make a lot of mistakes re their fashion designs. I do most of my shopping in the sales in a local independent traditional store called Bradbeers and I quite like Matalan too as they have improved a lot lately.

That so called coat is hideous......m and s going from bad to worse..

I saw them I was not impressed think they make curvy people look worse.

Believe it or not, it seems the sleeveless trenchcoat is an 'in' design this year! From yesterday's fashion pages in the Times...

There are a few bits I would have a look at and possibly buy but, like most size 18 and above designs, many of the items are made to hide a big stomach so give a shapeless/advanced pregnancy look if you happen to have a large bust but smaller waist/stomach and hips There are no items on their 'larger bust' selection page

I was invited to join a panel by M&S and they regularly send emails asking for my opinion on various materials and styles. Only critiqued dresses, tops, skirts and trousers so far but not many get the thumbs up. I wrote in the comment boxes that seeing a square of 'material' on a screen hardly qualifies anyone to tick 'love' or 'hate' which are the only options available. They don't tell you the material and OFTEN call a knee length dress a mini or calf length a maxi. I rang to ask them who outs the surveys together but they had no idea which department that would be.
I had to give my name, age, shopping habits, my size and area in which I live.
As a 16 year old in a large Northern town, I was a regular M&S clothes buyer AND all through my teens 'til about 21.
Now I hardly go near the place except for food and some homeware.
They've lost their way. Too many stiff fabrics and asymetric hems. Too many frills and dowdy styles and too much embroidery. Who wants a skirt that will never wear out? I like new stuff every year.

Who designed that? The remit must have been to find a colour and style that would look as unflattering as possible, and then make it shiny! I avoid shiny like the plague - and so should any designer who is thinking of the larger lady. It seems most women of a certain age are disappointed with M and S; there have been lots of threads about the lack of reasonable fashion for the mature lady, and they have also taken to using cheap synthetic fabrics in absolutely hideous flash colours. I'm all for a bright pop of colour, but walking through our local store a week or so ago was an exercise requiring sunglasses. I'm with michellehargreaves - Phase Eight have lovely clothes and frequent sales - they've got one now online - and they appear to be designed to fit and flatter.

I used to buy all my scoop neck, three quarter length sleeve Tee shirts ( the ones with elastane) but guess what? M&S don't do them any more. I despair at the awfulness of their "ranges", hideous clothes, hideous colours, hideous shapes! I'm 70 and most of their garments are too" old lady "
even for me. Go to Phase Eight in the sale, some lovely elegant tops and not bank breaking!

Where are the sleeves?

I felt sorry for the model who had to wear this horror on TV. It looked hideous.

Once they have got rid of those hideous shocking pink dresses that festooned all their sale racks last year, the racks will be full of "floral print 3/4 sleeve wrap dress". Have you ever seen anything quite so like a dressing gown to actually be supposed to venture out in?

I quite like some of the tops, and I think the grey coat is lovely. I haven't bought anything there for ages, as our local store is a small one and doesn't carry a bit range; it's such a faff to get to our nearest large one.

I still love M&S, I buy my jeggings & lot of my tops there as well as their lingerie.

I haven't looked at the Collection yet, probably wait until I go into nearest large Store.

I saw the "Trench" on This Morning earlier this week, as my DM would say "it looks like a sack of spuds tied in the middle". Some of the other clothes looked nice though. I will reserve judgement

Not as awful as I expected

I’m size 16 so in the middle size wise.

OMG, Trisher it’s hideous! The model is lovely, but they’re not selling her . I rarely buy M+S now, except underwear, nightwear, or socks. Did get a nice feather and down jacket from my mum for Christmas though, and a good pair of jeans (slim fit) that actually fit me! I’m not slim though .

M&S is very disappointing altogether these days for clothes, but at least they have a plus size model. They need to look at what other clothes designers are doing - Seasalt have lovely things for us larger ladies, and Gudrun Sjoden. It can be done, so why aren't they doing it?

DH just said that khaki dress looked like a wartime overall. M&S are still not listening, they ask us to review the clothes and give feedback, I usually say NO, HIDEOUS or even WOULDN'T BE SEEN DEAD IN IT, and lo and behold they end up on the rails. They need to reconsider whether their buyer is doing the job.

No. but I hardly ever set foot in M&JS these days. I lose the will to live...

The trench coat makes me think of an evacuee, sent to the country with only the clothes on their backs, and this particular child was left to grow up and wear the same coat she was given age 6, hence why the arms have sadly fallen off...she simply grew through them....
in fact, googling Evacuee Clothing looks similiar to the M&S line!!! hehehe

My grandson tells me that the latest 'in' thing are all the old Seventies styles again! lol, whats this, third time round, fourth?
