Only visited once today, still tired though.
H was sitting in the chair by his bed, well slumped and nearly falling out.
Just a gown, no socks or slippers, he was very cold. GD and I sorted him, staffing was really bad, a woman with MH problems was kicking off, 2 nurses were sitting with her, staff nurse ringing everywhere for help. Even tried security who said they were too busy.
H decided he needed the loo, at least an advance on yesterday, eventually a commode was brought, he had to wait for ages until staff came from elsewhere, he cannot move at all unaided.
When he had "performed" he had to sit there for at least 10 mins again for reinforcements from another ward. It was not the fault of the staff at all.
When I got chance to see the nurse about the ward round she reiterated they are still trying to get him onto a ward.
The bed manager knows about his situation, oh yeah?
Physio will not try to get him mobile until he is on a ward.
However she told me there is no way he can come home until help is in place for me, yeah!!
He must be more mobile and they realise I cannot cope without help, so things do go on in the background that we don't realise.
He is obviously on his way to continence which is good even if it takes time.
He is still on IV fluids.
I feel progress is being made but I cannot see home home yet.
