What’s your ‘thing’?

Any technical gadget that needs a network and has an operating system........I know I’m unnatural. I like shoes too if that makes me less weird in GN’s eyes

Scarves , pre- loved Mulberry handbags and books . Paper for non - fiction and Kindle / Audible for fiction and biographies . Not forgetting CDs , vinyl and downloads . Oh , and also mascara .

Soaps for me. French lavender soap, Italian lemon soap, Scottish heather soap. Any beautifully smelling soap and I'm there. Could be worse I suppose. At least it's small!

Paddyann, I had a white bowl phase but I'm over it! I'm all about gaudy now!

Plants - we are plantaholics and love open garden weekends in the summer where gardeners sell plants surplus to requirements. We even buy the tired, dead looking things outside shops which are sold off for 10p or a silly price. OH always revives them. It has to stop!

Me, beautiful bedding, dangly earrings, charity shops and coloured glass, smelly soaps which are beautifully packaged, water-marked writing paper, tissue-lined envelopes, fountain pens, art supplies, mirrors and scarves. Oh dear.....

Art books, paints, paintbrushes anything in an art suppliers. Also, love book shops and never pass handbags without sussing them out for my particular requirements.

Kitty I'm a bit obsessive about white dishes so I have loads but I like them in different shapes and styles..today though I bought some little chinese bowls and the matching china spoons and they aren't white ...might be on a slippery slope now .We changed our kitchen around last year and discovered I had well over 100 wine glasses . .of all types ,large red ,flutes ,white wine and red wine goblets ,beautiful port glasses, old fashioned champagne saucers that were a wedding present 43 years ago and more and I'm not parting with any of them in fact I got some beautiful Jacobean ones for Christmas ...I'm a lost cause

I used to love cut glass mustard pots. Iv still got a few but gave a lot to charity.
Mostly it's DMC embroidery thread.. I love a the jewel colours. Also small vintage silver items which I collect to give to my grandaughter when she is, 21.
Vintage wooden boxes Stationary and note books. And China with Holly leaves on but not Portmeirion. When I read it. It's a bit of a mixture

The only thing I treat myself to are DVDs. Escapism? possibly! I realise it's a waste of money, but we can't join a streaming service like Netflix or Amazon Prime because (a) the films are not always available here in the original language (b) I would miss the DVD extras and (c) our broadband contingent would be used up in the first week of the month!

So I pick up a DVD in the supermarket most weeks. Only criterion - it mustn't cost more than a cinema ticket.

Handbags for me . Have bought , and worn out , many lovely bags over the years but now I never buy on a whim. I always consider a purchase over a period of months and save up before committing to a new bag.

Anything crafty for me too, walls of beautiful pens, multi-coloured yarns, card in all the colours of the rainbow !!

Bed linen. My DH always knows where to find me in shops. I have 42 white pillow cases. Why? I just like new ones

Jalima we had an ice cream maker. I used it once. Enough said!

Books, I'm always buying them, I do off load them periodically to charity shops, or friends if I'm familiar with their reading tastes then I'll pass a book on if I think it will appeal, similarly I get given books too. Other than that scarves. I got a couple of really good ones as Christmas presents so probably won't buy any for a while. I love really nice soap and reed diffusers often to be found in the same sort of one off shops. I also like buying new bed linen from John Lewis and Marks. I love handbags, sunglasses, ankle boots and perfume but I'm not always buying those items although I have my fair share. Shoes too!

I was very brave and ousted all my CDs when I discovered spotify.

Well I ve been thinking I used to have plants all over the house, still find it hard to say no to nurturing cuttings but give most away, books (yes)African woodwork, postcards and lots more but I ve tried to gradually get rid of lots trying to be thoughtful to those that are left to sort it all out
I don’t have to buy but I do love stationery and stationery shops I don’t read much now because of silly eyes but I still love books and the feel and smell of paper
Photos I have so many albums going back to C19th that I ve both inherited and hundreds I ve taken myself
So perhaps not such a boring fart ? as I originally thought

We have so many CDs, LPs, EPs etc - I did say to DH that people we know have Spotify and less cluttered homes .

Music - I am forever online looking for more song arrangements for my choir - I have a room full of them!

Used to be clothes, now it is Home magazines, the expensive ones. and I can't bear to throw them away.
Also books and spiral bound notebooks.

I've wanted an ice cream maker for ages Jalima but have resisted because, well..... because I would just keep eating ice cream. It wouldn't do my waistline any good

I’ve got one, jalima. It does make lovely ice cream, the sort that reminds me of my childhood, but once served, even when it has been in the freezer, it doesn’t seem to stay frozen very long. You have to eat it quickly. No problem there, then! .
