Happy new home to you both and your dog of course who will be as happy as dog with 2 tailsgrin with a whole beach to play on.

Your family will just love the prospect seaside visits in such a beautiful area.

Embleton is a beautiful village Kupari, I've holidayed there myself many times. Perfect for walks on the beach, visits to all those castles and a trip into Alnwick for shopping! I'm sure you'll be very happy there.

Hope you will be very happy in your new home. It sounds lovely.

I would love to move from here, unfortunately OH is one who is determinedly stuck in the place he was born!

Good news, Kupari - I hope you’ll be very happy; Northumberland is a wonderful place.

Well done. look forward and enjoy.

We moved a lot so expect the next (last?) to be easy. Don't regret anything, you can't change it. I cried all the way to the new area after leaving one of our homes because of DH's job and then decided to get on with it and not look back. It worked for me.

We are hoping to sell up this year and move nearer to DS but houses in our area are not selling in our price range at the moment.

What wonderful news Kupari. I know you have been trying to make this move for a while. I will be thinking about you on the 19th perhaps with a glass in your hand and safely in your new home.

Best wishes from a grey cold south.

Good luck indeed! We moved from our house to a bungalow 18 months ago and have not regretted it in the slightest. I hope that you enjoy many happy years there and send every good wish.

Take all the help you can with the move - it is hard work - and do not expect too much of yourselves. We still have some stuff in boxes!!

Nannylovesshopping Thu 11-Jan-18 15:42:11

That's great news, hope the move goes smoothly and that you love your new homesmile

Exchanged contracts on the bungalow we are buying and signed contract of sale for this house at 11.00 am this morning. So its official at last!
This comes after four months of very stressful negotiations. The chain we are in collapsed twice- however we are nearly there and move house on the 19th of this month.
we are moving from Yorkshire to a village called Embleton in Northumberland. Had lots of holiday cottages there over the years and did lots of research, so know what we are going to.
With the benefit of hindsight I wish we had made the move a few years ago. We are both 73 and the last few weeks have been very tiring. WE are moving from a large 5 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom bungalow. So have had to get rid of at least half of our possessions.
Now that its all signed up, its a bit scary. However its our time now and family will have to make an effort to come and visit us instead of us doing all the running. (Well thats what I am telling myself) however still feel a bit guilty.
So OH and our dog are looking forward to being on the beach every day, and there's loads of things going on in the village. So wish us good luck wont you.
Just thought I will get to Northumberland Coffee mornings.
On the last of the packing now, thank god.
