Light hearted - it is nice to be nice - isn't it? What has happened to you day that meets this question?

Had a happy morning with friends at our weekly craft group. Gave a friend a lift home afterwards. Its nice to be helpful!

This morning , for the first time in six months, (I've been poorly), I went and saw my hairdresser at the salon - I feel a million dollars !!

Im undergoing chemotherapy, and I'm so impressed with the kindness and general niceness of everyone I meet.

The staff are overworked, but are laughing and keeping the patients spirits up.

The cancer patients are so upbeat, and kind to each other.

My weekly visits for chemotherapy aren't something I look forward to, but they have sure restored my faith in human beings.

It really is the little things that count. I rent my parking space out & let a couple who were using it this morning use my toilet. The husband is in town for (seems like frequent hospital appts) and his birtthday tomorrow. They were so grateful and promised me a lovely review.

I always think that if someone does something nice for me, then I will do something good for somebody else. If we all did that, the world would be a happier place.
It might be a smile or holding a door,to something far more.

And as some have remarked, it is lovely to be doing the good turn, compliment or whatever as well - and others pleasure gives us a warm glow too!!
It is indeed nice to be nice.
But I do find that I'm sometimes nervous about giving compliments in case they think Im being patronising!

Not today but over the festive season I was carrying a bulky item in Ikea car park when a lady said to me 'my son would like to help you with that'. Young man - guesstimate 10 - duly assisted and seemed very pleased to do so. Very very pleasant experience for me as well as so helpful.

Coming out of our local shop and a tiny little boy of about 3 stood waiting for me , holding the door open. I said " Thank you very much" . He looked me right in the eyes and said " You welcome". I had a lump in my throat walking home . ?

Two days ago, walking up th High Street, I passed a lady in a very colourful outfit and matching turban. I was so struck by her grace in carrying off this look that I excused myself making a personal comment. She continued to walk with me and, hearing that she and family are new to the area I've arranged a welcome meal with some friends. I think she'll add such a lot of new ideas to our small town and it started our respective days with a smile and a hug.

Electrician turned up on my doorstep unannounced because he thought I 'sounded worried' when I left a message for an appointment. He is such a busy man that I really appreciated this. Lovely.

I slowed to let a young male pedestrian cross the road. He blew me a kiss!

I gave my parking ticket with an hour still on it to someone this morning. She was very pleased. Does that count.

Just walk about with a smile on your face, it's surprising how many people will love it and smile back automatically. I love that feeling of receiving a smile back. Sometimes you just get a blank stare, but it doesn't matter because I'm sure even these people get something good from your happy face. Even if you have nothing particular to smile about, just smile and it will make you feel better. lol

I had a lovely email from my 8-year old DGS, signed off with "oodles and oodles and oodles of love."

I was heading towards a shop door with two shopping bags when a young man rushed in front of me and held the door open for me. It was such a nice surprise, so I thanked him and said what a gentleman he was. His thoughtfulness made me smile and as he walked away he was smiling whilst telling his girlfriend that I'd called him a gentleman. So courtesy is not dead!

The eastern European wait staff who helped this struggling Nonna with the heavy Bug-a Boo, getting it up and down the steps in the café, with 16-month-old child in it.

Lovely comments - it doesn't take much time or effort to smile or pass a comment - you never know if the person you talk to has spoken to anyone for a while. A hug and smile to everyone - let's pass it on. x

I always try to be nice to people, and hope they are nice back or are nice to someone else because I made them happy.

Had lovely video from little DGD this morning. And yesterday someone praised my trifle!

I almost missed the recycling truck this morning so scooped up the crate and ran out, barefeet, in my nightie, with husband's too large jacket chucked over. The bin man said "What are you up to, Petal?" I replied "I'm from Africa, we do things like this", he replied "So am I" and high fived me. We were both laughing by now.

Similar to you callgirl1 My DH has been looking everywhere for Milo. We can get it on line but it is very expensive. Knock on the door this morning. The postman with a parcel. DS had found said Milo and sent his Dad at tin. Guess what DH will have before bed?

Not today, but yesterday. Last week I was complaining to my friend`s widower that I can`t find my favourite cheese spread, Primula, in tubs these days, and the tubes are wasteful. Yesterday afternoon, a knock on the door, he was there with a tub of Primula, bless his heart.

Prompted by annual gathering of my husbands four siblings at the weekend I went through a huge box of his late mums photos as we promised his sister she could sort them. She loved her photos and to see the record of all their five children with their partners looking so young, their weddings and children was lovely and all five are still with their then young partners, quite amazing for a big family.

We met a friend and a daughter we had not seen for about six years today quite unexpectedly - caught up on all the important stuff and were invited for a meal on Thursday! Lovely surprise all round.
