Nowadays you clumsy people would be diagnosed as Dyspraxic wink.

I was a clumsy and ungainly child who grew into a clumsy and ungainly adult. If there's anything to be tripped over, bumped into or dropped then I'll find it. The harder I try to be co-ordinated, the more clumsy I seem to be. Things are unlikely to change now so I guess I'll just have to live with it.

I was clumsy and always had bruises usually on my hips but I couldn't remember how I had done them because I bumped into so many things- desks at school were a particular hazard! I still tend to bump into things and drop things, glasses and crockery don't last long round here!

I don't think I was clumsy, but I always seemed to look scruffy, with dirty knees. A bit like you, Bellanonna.

I wasn’t clumsy, but ‘dainty’ doesn’t seem quite the right word because I was always quite tall for my age. I think I was quite graceful. I was very much into ballet and music, so I danced a lot. I didn’t do many practical things, but I don’t remember breaking anything or knocking things over. I only remember one badly grazed knee in my life, when I fell off my scooter at the age of 6.

One thing I was clumsy at was playing the piano. I have no idea why I was so bad at it, because I loved music, but somehow my fingers wouldn’t find the right notes. I was also very bad at sewing. I suppose that’s a kind of clumsiness - or perhaps just total lack of interest.

A bit gauche. Clothes always in disarray. Always laughing.

I was clumsy and DH says I am still clumsy.

The girl with the permanently grazed knees - that was me.

Clumsy! All arms and legs and lacking in any sort of grace or coordination whatsoever!

Clumsy!!!! My mother called me a fairy elephant - I'm scarred for life by those comments but I'm not at all clumsy as an adult.

I think I was one of the clumsiest children in all history. If there was something to trip over, fall in, knock into then I did it. I was always covered in bruises and scuffs.

Three incidents come to mind. My poor granddad had been in a gas attack during WWI. This left him with a weak chest and horrific, painful leg ulcers. I tried to be careful around him but somehow the more I tried the worse it became. I constantly bumped into and fell over his legs. The poor man must have live in dread when I visited.

My Great Auntie Lillian also lived at my grandma's. She was always short with me and one day I told Grandma that I thought she didn't like me. Grandma said that she was just a miserable old woman and that I should be nice to her so why didn't I take up her morning cup of tea which she always had in bed. This seemed like a good idea so very carefully I carried the cup of tea upstairs feeling very proud that I didn't spill a drop into the saucer. I got to her room. Grandma said I'd made and carried the tea. Aunty Lillian smiled but looked a bit nervous. As I carefully carried it across the room I tripped on the bedside rug and the boiling hot tea landed in Auntie Lillian's lap. [embarrassed]

Grandma has an old fashioned square dining table that she covered with a heavy green cloth that hung down over the edges. It made a wonderful den and I often played under it. One meal time I was playing. Grandad and Aunty Lillian sat down to eat and then realised I was there. Grandad told me to come out but as I moved to crawl out I raised myself too high and hit the table from underneath. Grandad and Aunty Lillian ended up with their dinners in their laps.

No wonder Grandad and Aunty Lillian seemed to be always shouting at me. I think that's why Grandma liked me because it meant she could shout at them. Grandma didn't like Grandad or Aunty Lillian grin
