Hello all - thought I'd spread some Christmas cheer by saying that replacement train tickets were donated by the organisation that originally put us in touch with our young man and he's picked them up and will be arriving tomorrow. I'm not quite sure who is the most excited, him or us. (I think it's me.) Ever practical our Christmas gift to him is an electric toothbrush as I doubt he'll ever afford dentistry! Kindly members of the local branch of Amnesty have also bought him a couple of small gifts and donated money that has gone towards some extras so he'll have some surprises on Christmas Day.
On the subject of kindliness, I've had several donations given to me for a homeless man I've been supporting and he was moved to tears today by me telling him of some young children who gave some (a lot!) of their Christmas money to me so that he could get new walking boots. The true spirit of Christmas is still alive and well.
