About 6 inches here in Oxfordshire. I am about to try to copy this snowman, have wanted to have a go for ages!
N&G lovely picture of the boys, they look so happy together ! My DGD'S had an appointment to see Santa this afternoon but they have had a lot of snow in Leamington and roads are closed. They are hoping to go next weekend.

Maw I had a look at the link for the exhibition, it looks wonderful, I really love William Morris and didn't know he had a talented daughter. Shame you couldn't go but I totally agree about not travelling if you don't have to.

We have had torrential rain all night and it is still raining. OH doesn't feel too well and is still in bed. He likes to be on his own when under the weather so he's reading until the snooker comes on.
I shall spend the afternoon wrapping presents and knitting.
As you can see this Schnauzer doesn’t share Hatties dislike of the white stuff. He’d be quite happy to potter in and out all day dragging the snow with him

My plans to go to London today to see DDs 2 and 3 and go to the May Morris exhibition at the William Morris gallery in Walthamstow (about half way between them) were shelved when it started snowing about 5 a.m. and hasn’t stopped.
I had an Ocado delivery about 9.30 and the van driver told me he had got stuck on the bypass outside the village which clinched it for me. Sorry not to see them but not happy to risk getting stuck either on the way to the station or in the car park tonight as I believe it is set to snow all day!
Quite happy to hunker down with a DVD this afternoon actually (Bridget Jones Baby) - got my “sensible”head on this morning. I might bake the Christmas cake too, the fruit has been soaking since last night. Hopefully a “good”day.
Hattie is not amused by snow, it is cold and wet on her paws, there are no proper smells and when I suggested “out” she ran and hid on her bed

Lovely festive photos and messages. We've had an invitation to join pals for mulled wine and such. Friend nearby (who never drinks at lunchtime) is to pick us up.
I need to do a quick sweep around, flick of the duster, and then make myself look presentable. I could be gone some time.

Bertie and Persie have an actual appointment to see Santa this afternoon. He is at a garden centre in the countryside near them. It should look very festive - if they can get there.

Hello, the kitchen! No snow worth taking pictures of here at the moment, gq (hope the plumbing is improving!) - it is still coming down, but it looks like someone sifting icing sugar.

Well, our day didn’t get an awful lot better than worrying about the weather yesterday. Our freesat box conked out so the tv went back into medieval mode - just a few channels and no remote. I expect all my recordings will have gone too, which is what I am most annoyed about. We have ordered a new one but they can’t fit it until Tuesday. Until it is fitted, we can’t put up our Christmas tree, because it takes up so much room that once it is up, getting to the back of the tv is a non starter. Seeing the tv is almost a non starter!! Hey ho, just another lump in life’s custard!
We were supposed to have GS here last night, but we were so worried about getting him back this morning, that we offered to look after him at his house. In fact, looking out today getting him back wouldn’t have been a problem. In the end, DD decided that she would not go to the concert they had booked. Hopefully he is booked in for next weekend instead. We did go over to the school in the afternoon to see him run in their annual Christmas Dash, a two and a half k run through the woods at the back of the school for all years and parents. It was great fun to see parents and children in Christmas fancy dress (not ours - he hates dressing up, but he wasn’t on his own). Father Christmas even appeared out of the trees, heard before he was seen, and it was lovely to see the littlies very excited by it! FC issued large foil covered chocolate medals to all runners (and some tiny non runners)!
Well, it is still lightly sifting down. We may get a short walk in later but I think it is going to be an “in” day, perhaps decorating the conservatory. The tree can wait until next weekend. I will look in later.

The little boys went to see Santa yesterday. Mum wasn't impressed but from the attached picture I think the little 'elves' were happy enough although Jackson felt that Santa REALLY should have wrapped his gift! As its not a surprise without paper !!
I am off to crack the whip - the lounge decorating MUST be finished today as I am bored with it !! Its not that we have loads up( we haven't even started on the tree) but in our old home everything had a place and here its a bit freestyle !!

maw what a jumble of emotions to cope with, no wonder you’re up and down like a yo-yo. Those who love you and loved paw too will do their best to understand they, and most of all, you are the people who matter. It’s a horrible feeling knowing you can’t predict when it’s all going wash over you, sometimes when you least expect it. I’ve had a lazy at home day today. My dodgy digestive plumbing system brought yesterday to a rather hurried conclusion! It left me feeling a bit washed out this morning. I pottered about doing odds and bits around the house, interspersed with catching up on some programmes I’d recorded. I’d had some photos framed and miraculously we managed to hang them up without ruining the newly decorated walls. That’s quite possibly a 1st in this house, anything involving my old boy and a hammer is a dangerous business!
Ann and anno too, you must be so achy in this cold weather, I’m discovering that osteoarthritis is no picnic.
It’s late and I’ve no doubt ignored someone, sorry not intentionally. Sleep well kitchen folk x

I tried to do a Waitrose shop this afternoon running the gauntlet of couples and families shopping perhaps for Christmas, but also with a brass band playing carols outside.
I am afraid I failed on all counts.
