They have decided to not stock Free Trade any more but to run their own scheme called Free to Trade or something like that. It is quite scandalous actually because the profit is no longer going to the producer communities but to a central fund at Sainbury who will decide how to spend it.
Free Trade are very upset because the Sainsbury brand will look and sound almost the same and people dill butt thinking they are supporting Free Trade.
It does deserve a separate thread actually.

Fairtrade ones I tried, not liked.

Maybe people didn't buy much Fairtrade tea in Sainsbury's. I stopped buying Fairtrade coffee cause it wasn't as nice as the ones I liked. Similarly, I buy the tea I like, Yorkshire, in loose and bag form. The Fairtrade ones I liked weren't as nice.

I may try mine again now; how long to boil enough for one cup of decaffeinated tea.

I timed mine, Jalima 4 min 03 sec, for a very old Russell Hobbs Millenium kettle. I can't remember when I bought it, but presumably it was round about the millenium. I shall go and report it on the kettle thread.

Personally if you asked me when in Sainsbury's I would say I'm unhappy that they have decided not to sell Fairtrade tea any more.

Some specialise in making assumptions about what someone realy means by a post, thinking they know better than the poster what their hidden agenda is.

However, most people take posts at face value or assign a meaning on the better side of what might be meant, not the worst. Most stick to the subject under discussion, too. When it all veers off into sniping, it is time to leave the snipers to it and go off to do something else.

I think I shall put the kettle on. I shall time how long it takes to come to the boil, and add a small crumb to the sum of accumulated shared knowledge .
