Good morning everyone and thank goodness it’s Friday! Two days work this week which seemed to take up so much more than two days,IYSWIM.
Hugs to all who need them and to those who have had good news too - there is so much happening.
Our decorator has finished too GrannyQ so we need to replace curtain poles, pictures, bookcases and contents to hall and landing. I really should get out of bed and make a start!
Could well be crafting, along with lost books and PE kit (children’s), lost screwdrivers (Mr C’s - “I know I had it just now”) and lost patience (probably mine).

Bit of an outing today, Christmas market, flipping cold but enjoyable, other than too many people. Mr C tried to make a purchase, fortunately he was saved from himself and my ‘surprise’ present won’t have to be hidden in a cupboard. There seems to be a lot of male shop-itis about 
.
Then a concert this evening, nothing that needed concentration, lots of laughter. Good day but I’m shattered, all this enjoyment is exhausting.
Hope you can ease off a bit before your cruise galen. How will they cope without you next year?
No snow here, yet. I’d like to request some for the weekend as we have no need to use a car, it would be nice if it was gone in Monday though. What are the chances do you think?

There are several things I enjoy about this kitchen... hearing takes of other people’s families reassures me I’m not living in a totally disfunctional one myself. n&g grampy’s stone stroking comment was just priceless and one I could hear my old boy making! And Mr gd’s random and wandering shopping habits do have a familiar ring as well.
I’ve baked one batch of star biscuits for Saturday and a slab of chocolate cake ready to ice for yet another church do on Sunday. Meanwhile the house is gradually descending into chaos. Bob the builder decorator tells me we can move back into our bedroom tomorrow morning so he can start on the spare room - just to be clear that’s me and the old boy not me and Bob that are moving into our bedroom. 
However it will be me and Bob who’ll be doing the furniture removing as the old boy is out all day volunteering with really, really old people !
soop I’m so in awe of anyone who can draw or paint, sadly I can’t draw ANYTHING for toffee or even for nothing, but you just capture images so beautifully.
Chilly here too oldgoat, I had to nip out for a few essential items and there was a bitter wind and a shower of sleet. While I was out I found myself in White Stuff where I happened upon a rather nice tunic top, with the 2 gift vouchers I had stashed in my purse it cost me very little indeed. Then Mr T had s good wine deal so altogether a good trip, even if it was blatantly diversionary activity to avoid the things I should have been doing. Hey the next batch of biscuits can wait till tomorrow., with all the other jobs!

N&G our sparrows were hitting the bird feeders big style this morning, and the bird bath was frozen and had to be thawed out. It is now frozen again! I feel rather guilty for cutting down their “sparrow terrace” aka the enormous laurel hedge at the back of the garden wall, but there is still plenty of shelter around for them. We have only had a short flurry of the white stuff thus far, but there is a weather warning out for the region this evening ?!
Oldgoat I’m glad I am not the only one who loses her DH as soon as we step inside Aldi, only to have him turn up and say “How about this? I thought we would try it” and then be despatched to return it to the appropriate shelf tout suite! I get annoyed at the number of times I have to ask total strangers to reach things down from shelves because Himself has gone AWOL somewhere down the centre aisle!
We went over the Chesterfield today as they have a very good cake craft shop there and I wanted to go bonkers like a child in a sweet shop buy a few essentials for my Christmas baking, and some cellophane bags for biscuits and brandy snaps. It was bitterly cold and I wanted to get home, but the weekly flea market was in full swing and DH likes nothing better than to spend ages perusing other peoples fleas tasteful vintage items. He bought a DVD we won’t watch - because our DVD player is up the spout - and an old hammer . He already has a hammer, which he probably thinks is too good to dispose of should he ever be driven to use it on me (he is often sorely tempted, I am sure!) so he obviously feels he needs a dispensable hammer! I have been nice to him this afternoon ?.
Well, food calls, so I will exit stage left to the kitchen, pursued by a hammer! Have a pleasant evening, all.

It's been ages since I last picked up the paint box. This afternoon's attempt at painting the mother and baby deer (from a photo I took one spring) has been overworked and it's what I call "muddy". One sheet of paper remains. I shall start afresh, tomorrow. First things first...clear the decks and wash the brushes and have a lovely .
I shall be with you again after tomorrow's visit to Campbeltown.

Hello everyone. Just popping in for a quick chat. We've had snow today, too but it thawed again pretty quickly. The car thermometer read 2 degrees C. on the way to Aldi. Had to return some ski over-trousers which I'd bought for GS. They were too tight round the waist. The shop assistant said they'd had a lot returned because they were too BIG! Had to buy him the 13-14 year old size though he's only just 10. The legs are way too long but he'll grow into them. OH loves shopping and disappeared into the central isles to buy loads of stuff that we don't need.
Hope that none of you will be snowed-in. So glad that I don't have to drive to work any more.

harri We've snow on the peaks. A bit icy underfoot. Went for a wibbly wobbly walk. I hung on to MacS's arm like a limpet. The air was crystal clear. I shall upload a photo in a mo'.
