Hello again I am back in business. At last I have some sort of decent working computer browser with the help of OH.
This has been going on all week I have hardly posted all weekend I am getting withdrawal symptoms. I have had to stop using Firefox which is in right mess.

I have done my last concert with the choir. I was with them for six years. A new musical director (MD) has ruined it.
The two years of disorganisation has got to me, that and the inability of the MD to create a reasonably coherent musical experience.

When you finish what was a war remembrance concert with what was like three war time community songs with the extra music just dumped on you un-reahearsed it is time to walk away.

I have never heard quite so much muttering from choir members did last night. Off to the ** Choral Society.
Rant over.

I rang my sister in Canada kittylester and she says it is a macular hole /tear(?) and her brain does not seem able to process what her eyes are “seeing” e.g.she said one morning her freezer seemed to be covered in silver ball bearings!
Letters do not look like what she expects.
At least not dementia or a brain tumour. I do feel so sorry for her though.
Just had a lovely trip to London to have lunch with DDs and check over the layout of the ordervof service for next Monday. We have lovely pics of Paw for the front and back covers. He looks so happy and relaxed - the way to remember him

I know nothing about macular tears, guess someone will, as you say at least not a brain tumour or dementia and it sounds as if your sister is able to know when what she ‘sees’ isn’t accurate. It must be both worrying and frustrating in equal measure. I’m so pleased you have your lovely daughters to support you.

Goodness, frustrations abounding nellie. Onwards, eh? New things can only come when there is the space for them, something good will come to fill the space left by your choir I’m sure.

I was supposed to be having an early night, . best put the iPad aside. A bit twitchy though as there are no security or street lights in our development. Private roads with private lighting which is usually very bright. A fault of some kind which began last night. Very odd as the roads around are well lit while we’re in the dark. Oh well, Monday tomorrow and I am sure the electricians will do their stuff. Keep warm and well everyone.

greyduster, we have the same affliction I’m positive I’ve been in the kitchen at least once this weekend but clearly, like yours, those of mine posts never reached fruition. The whole house is in a state of flux, the decorator Chappie assures me he will pop in tomorrow evening and start for real on Tuesday. We’re currently decamped into the spare bedroom where the bed although smaller is probably more comfortable than ours is. The rest of our belongings are scattered around the place.
That was a fabulous photo a few days ago n&g, yes I know the world has moved on but I still wanted to admire it while I remember.

Morning, err, umm, I’ve just woken up. It’s 9.10, . Now the big question is, do I have a totally lazy morning or do I get on with the practical stuff that needs sorting? Mr C is still slumbering, next question, do I wake him up? Of course I don’t - he’s still germy so better asleep. I’ll have a cuppa and ponder I think, that could take a while. .

grannyqueenie do you think that the decorator will be out by the magic word C? Not the best time of year to have anybody tripping in and out- with luck he was not born in a field and is house trained to close doors.

I’ve told by phone that tomorrow is ABSOLUTELY the last day for starting but will reinforce that with a *cold hard stare (as in the Paddington Bear book) when I see him tonight. Knowing, even if only slightly, his wife and lovely children I can’t imagine he’s not housetrained, time will tell! The old boy is abdicating from all negotiating but did sterling work clearing our bedroom and dealing with the hideously massive small amount of fluff under all the furniture I’m sure it’s not that long since it was cleaned!!
Good choice of photo maw, just how you’d want him remembered. That’s the beauty in having the time you have to choose carefully.
About to do battle in the big city to try to crack the shopping for you know what.....I may be gone some time, you may need to send a search party with chocolate and/or alcohol!

It is an awful day today ,rain, rain and more rain and very heavy it is.
I got up and going early to go out, I really need a new fridge freezer and a visit to the bank but I think a postponement is hovering.
I also need to buy more Christmas cards.

I had my duvet day at 3am this morning . Couldn't sleep so sat in the chair well wrapped up and read a book. Back to bed at 6am then out like a light till gone 9.

I wondered that too, maw. As I dont seem to have a brain today thought it was just me. Yes, decided this morning wasn't for action. Have stirred, feet up with a book and GN. Mr C has decided to arise, seems better which is good. You never know we may both be human again tomorrow. (need an 'i doubt it' emoticon)

Seems the street lighting is going to be far from straightforward. The electricians can't trace a fault, suspecting an underground cable but so far no idea where. Now, I'm no electrician but shouldn't testing thingies show them where the fault it? Really, really pleased I am not our development manager who is having her ears burned at the moment. Oh well, done all I can, back to the book.

Spent most of the morning revising a Christmas piece for our writing group's annual visit to read to residents of a care home. Memories of Christmas in the 40s and 50s. How simple our celebrations were then, compared with the razzmatazz of the 21st Century and we were, if anything, more contented.

I agree with you Maw . Anyone who can knock 7k off just because we both winced was over priced anyway. We are hoping to go with the 2nd company and will have an orangery with special solar reflective glass . I think it will do the trick !

Yes we have chosen self cleaning glass too Oldgoat , and I have a vision of a little old chap coming with the building and popping up there for a dust and wash !!

I'm another that didn't get up early, I have hurt/scratched my eye somehow and it was hurting enough to wake me last night. Seems better today but if it doesn't improve ill have to decided whether to see the doctor or the optician??

Just wanted to share with you all - its our 41st Wedding anniversary today and although its not in the least bit modest - I am very proud we have made it this far. I would be lying to say it has been a bed of roses there has been the odd thorn or two along the way but here we are !

The best news is that apparently the gift for the 41st year is land....so well done Grampy on buying me a new home :-) ( he looked relieved when I told him !!)

I'm sharing my happy day with all of you - there will be cake because I have totally derailed my diet so sod it.... lets make it worthwhile !!

Congratulations- 41 years is a long time! Hopefully Grampy will recover!

To heck with the diet, but let's face it there will not be many calories in whatever cake you have chosen! Enjoy your day even if it is just admiring your new home.

I hope that Sam is being well cared for in his new abode. At least he appears to have a reasonable garden and superb woodland to play in.

I think that I would go to see your GP first. If necessary he could write a covering letter for A&E, if you have one remotely close. An optician would I am sure send you to your GP, it is cutting out one layer of travel and saving time.

Forty one years down the line and still a very handsome couple! Many congratulations to you both! Save me a (small) piece of cake, please! I will be back.
