Its a crisp bright morning here , and my lovely brother has arrived and is currently erecting bunk beds !! He is well worth the bangers and mash and vodka this will cost me !!

ooooh Christmas lights Corner ...my new favourite thing to look at . Now we are in a tiny bungalow we SHALL be putting up lights. I am determined when my little visitors arrive at Christmas I will get a wow for my lights and decorations.

, I've found that lately, maybe its the new oven ( although I cant blame the lack lustre chilli on that because I did it in the slow cooker !!)

I'm sitting in rhe car park at the hospital while DS has a splint made to stop his hand 'curling' up, which he has to wear every night in bed. He is so strong and determined but why did the stroke happen to him and why is his sodding ex wife not here looking after him rather than his mum?
He's been upset this morning as an old friend of his committed suicide at the weekend and Matt thinks he was one of the last people to speak to him - so feels bad that he didn't spot the signs.
I'm sad for my neice too - shes seeing a solicitor this afternoon.
There is an awful lot of sadness on GN which is much worse than mine but I still need ahug and DH is out all day.
Huge hugs Kitty - I like hugging friends and always think a hug helps. Hope your lovely Matt gets sorted with his splint. Tell him how much I enjoyed his book won't you? I so admire all you do to support and encourage him. You are brill! x

Thank you fir the hugs everyone. Feeling better now. I think I was sad anyway and being in car park, at a hospital, brought back all the bad times when it seemed to be all we did and the worry of waiting for results.
I did tell him you enjoyed his book gaga - he went a bit pink! I really must read it again, properly! It was too raw at the time so I raced through it and need to try to do it sensibly. Hey ho.

kitty I am sorry for all the sadness you are going through. We wish so hard to make things right for our grown up children, and all we can do is be there. There isn’t a sticking plaster big enough in the whole world sometimes, is there?
Ann, your lasagne sounds lovely. We haven’t had one for a while. I was talking to my DiL on the phone last night and she was just taking one out of the oven. It must be lasagne week! Hope you enjoy your coffee and cake outing ?.
N&G tell the workforce if they don’t follow your instructions to the letter, you’ll swap the Stolichnaya Elit (did you know they do a salted caramel flavour? Can’t imagine anything more horrible!) for a bottle of Aldi’s BS (bog standard).
Painting is going on apace, but the whole colour chart/matchpot palaver is a load of codswallop. What comes out of the actual tin is never the colour you expect. And who thinks up these ridiculous names? ‘Botanical Extract’ indeed! What fool would buy paint with a name like that 
? Should have stuck with ‘Potting Shed’ !
Right, back to the bathroom cleaning or I will get into trouble!

I know that feeling, kitty, it’s been with me for most of this year. Oh for a magic wand to just keep our families safe and happy. Another hug from me if you still need one, can never have too many in my view.
Came back today to another aggressive sounding phone message followingup yesterday’s conversation, I refuse to let it get to me today. This person is undeniably upset so I’m trying to make allowances. There are far more important things in the world.
Went off out first thing today, lovely blue sky, a walk on the beach, coffee and a couple of shops on the way back. Life is t all bad
Yes, cover your bungalow in lights, n&g, easy to reach are bungalows and the lights are so uplifting.
Decorating just isn’t fun, greyd, the only time I have ever enjoyed it was when we bought this place and could decorate it before we moved in. Very different and almost, notice I say almost, fun.
Kitty, sorry to hear that you have so many things to worry you. You are so good at comforting others, please accept (((hugs))) from me. Look after yourself.

N&G There was a time when my son cooked chilli for all the family. He used such blisteringly hot chillies we had to open the window as it was cooking because our eyes started streaming. It was delicious.
Gaga Hugs are essential. There are occasions when a wordless hug works wonders.
annsixty I may treat myself to a slow cooker. We have a car, sitting in the Campbeltown garage, that is awaiting a sensor. Still borrowing our pal's mother-in-laws until ours is fixed. We believe that we may be faced with a hefty bill. A bill that takes precedence over other fanciful notions. 
Greyduster Almost every room in our home needs redecorating. MacS also commented on the exterior paintwork. I've tried to get enthusiastic and promised to do certain indoor decorating before Christmas. 
I've now accepted that I cannot keep the promise. Early spring sounds much more promising. The thing is, once I start, I get a real buzz and I do not know when to finish.
When our home was being built (almost 13 years ago) I treated every piece of wood before painting the timbers and decorating all the inside rooms....even the ceilings. I didn't get paid. 
Them was the days!!!
Tomorrow is care home visit to our pal who used to live in the village. A stroke has confined him to the care home for almost three years. His lovely wife, also a good friend, is in agony with arthritis in her hip. We visit her husband together every Tuesday. She is in such awful pain that she can longer make the Friday visit. She's on a very long waiting-for-surgery list. It could be April before she has the hip replacement procedure.
