Comfy old favourites

We have an old Reebok fleece jacket which must be well over 20 years old. My sister gave it to me as it was too small for her, I wore it for a while and then my elder daughter borrowed it for a few years and left it behind after one of her visits. It hangs in our cloakroom and is worn by anyone who needs it! It's a bit pilled but still respectable. I have several times put it in a charity bag and taken it out again. I think that I will have it forever!

It’s nice to know I’m not on my own! I have a small wooden spoon, had it for 55 years and couldn’t do without it. Also a fleece cardigan from M&S approx 10 years old. Which I wear every evening cos it’s comfy!!

I had a comfy fleece type dressing gown wearing out so bought a light cotton one to wear over it. The colours tone and it now looks quite smart.

Glad to read that so many of us have old, comfy, well worn dressing gowns. I don't feel so bad now about keeping mine and not looking to replace it.

I have a leather biker jacket that is 25 years old (older than my daughter)!!! It fits me like a glove. It has the imprint of my bum on the back where I used to take it off & sit on it at festivals etc. I still wear it occasionally (I think I'm still young enough & still have the look) & get compliments about.

I have an old grey furry dressing gown that DH says makes me look like a cross between Yoda and the grim reaper- he loves me really! - it is absolute heaven on a cold night.

Many years ago I sent an order to a company for some thermal underwear. They sent me a free gift of a thermal cardigan.
I was absolutely horrified when I saw it. Ugly, and far too big.
Then one day, whilst gardening in the cold I put it on as I wasn't bothered about ruining it.
It now sits on the back of my chair in the kitchen, looking a bit battered, but is now cherished.
It is so snuggly that as soon as I feel chilly, I put it on.
It is like wearing a hug.
I now dread the time that it finally wears out.

Got to be my cosy dressing gown, not sure how old it is but my daughter is 23 and its wasnt new then. Have had plenty of new ones over the years and they hang on the back of the bedroom door til they go to the charity shop. As my daughter says you wouldnt be you without that dressing gown, she isnt adverse to borrowing it when shes under the weather.I hasten to add it does get washed regularly!!

A hand knitted cardigan really lovely thick wool. Stretched so it goes to my knees known as "poorly carrie" Any person or animal in the family wrapped this on sofa all snuggled up. Now just myself to snuggle in it whenever I want. Great'll

An old grey flannel dressing gown, can't remember how long I've owned it but I know that I bought it the year that Tony Blair came to power.
I had to shorten it due to me being on the short side as the hem dragged on the stairs - it's now rather big as I've at last managed to lose some weight. It does look like I've rifled a large lady's wardrobe but what the hell, it's comfy and has big pockets for hankies which came in very handy when I was poorly and was constantly blowing my nose while lolling about on the sofa. Can't imagine life without it.

I have a wrap which I bought when we were watching Father Christmas arrive in the town years ago. It was bitterly cold and I dived into a cheapie shop and found this soft and lovely huge 'woollen' scarf.
The other day I was having a clearout and thought it was time for it to go because it was pilled and quite scruffy looking. However, it went back in the cupboard just in case I need it this winter

I have a lovely jacket, not fleece but a bit similar I bought it YEARS ago in New Zealand, must be more than fifteen years ago, it is lovely, warm and comfy, it is now my gardening jacket, I cant bear to throw it away, there is nothing wrong with it, the colours are lovely too.

Katek ? yes, we could indeed do a calendar.......but would anybody actually want one?I mean, apart from us lot.

Four pairs of velvet M&S trousers: two black,one purple and one brown.I live in them all winter. I pull them on and they are warm and comfy covering a multitude of sins.The older two are much better quality than the newer two.

Sue01 Chelsea girl that brought back memories I had a Saturday job there lovely to hear others mention shops from the past.My old comfy is a big snuggly jumper I throw on over other tops in the colder months it cost me £7...8 years ago and it still washes up well.

Sarah - I'm not so fussy! They're machine washable.

I have 2 jumpers that were maternity jumpers 26 years ago. I still wear them regularly and I can't bear the thought of getting rid of them because they are such good quality. I also have a similar aged shirt from M&S but it really looks it's age these days.

My old dressing gown is hideous but I wouldn’t part with it, I have a few old faithfuls, equally as bad, I would take them with me to the great hereafter if I could.

My daughter has hung on to an old duvet cover that is very thin and soft. It must be 20 years old.

I could not in any way buy trousers
I recall on one occasion my late DH bringing home what he thought was a bargain, from a charity shop,in a pair of men's linen slacks. Instantly I returned them. No, I didn't ask for a refund.
