Best charity shop buys

We get so many kids books we do 5 for a pound

A brand new mustard coloured wool coat (very on trend) for £2.
We were on a day out in a posh seaside town when DH wanted to go in and look at the books. He got nothing!

4 new Villeroy and Boch crystal cocktail glasses for £10 would retail for over £100 just didn’t have the box
Jenny Packham velvet evening gown for £8 would have been £300+ new.

A beautiful flawless crystal trifle bowl. Have needed a new one for ages and there it was £9.50

Three Ikea stools, wooden, new, still boxed. £7 each, selling in current catalogue for £14 each.
Eight crystal wine goblets, new and boxed, £10.
Marks and Spencer, long cashmere cardigans, new with labels , two at £5 each.

I've a group on Facebook to share bargains. Check out "charity shop bargains". Probably a brand new pair of irregular choice shoes for £5 is my fav bargain

I have not had so much recently. My OH bought a large collection of duplo Lego in one of our local charity shops really good for two little boys.
The two helicopters were a different matter. You do not give helicopters with revolving blades to small boys (three ish then ) Visions of chopped fingers and broken blades.

Why I don't quite trust my OHs decisions on such things.

I've found some fantastic toys for visiting Gdcs - inc. a big fairy princess castle for £8. In same local shop found a lovely rain jacket/coat for little Gds - an expensive one that looked unworn - £4!
A dd buys nearly all her clothes in charity shops and gets some fantastic barely-worn bargains, £60-70 dresses for a tenner or less. Mind you her local charity shops do seem to have rather nicer clothes than ours.

I go in looking for paintings or frames. In Lincoln recently I popped in to a few charity shops and picked up a set of three watercolours, originals, beautifully mounted and framed. £3 each!

I also picked up a woollen, boxy Chanel-type jacket, as new, for £7. I have had it three years now and still love it.
