70mph spider!

Does anybody else have those rather annoying little spiders that spin a web on the wing mirrors of your car. I have one on each side of my car. I went through the car wash last week and thought I won't see those again. Next morning both webs were back again hmm. I have only seen an actual spider once and that was when I was doing 70 down the motorway. I glanced in the mirror and saw this little spider hanging on briefly, and then it disappeared back behind the mirror. What on earth do they live on in there!!!
DH dosn't get them for some reason just me..

Yes, I have them and they can disappear back into their cosy web in the mirror very quickly. Presumably they nip out and catch a fly or two for sustenance.

Yes, we have one of those. Took it on holiday to Lincoln a few weeks ago. It sat in its Web admiring the view up the M6 but once the rain started, it hid in the corner of the wing mirror.
It is still there even after a visit to Cornwall last week!

Fly sprayed both my mirrors and the blighters dissapeared...........
for about two days.

Mine actually spun its web on the motorway while we drove to Norfolk I don't have the heart to spray.

I've heard spiders fobt like the brown chestnuts from horse chestnut trees, the kind we used to play conkets with. Maybe keep dome of those in your car to deter them. ?

Well, the front of our house is surrounded by horse chestnuts and I squash them as I walk to my car - but I still have the windscreen spiders.

I was driving home yesterday and saw a thread running from the door I had opened and closed to get into the car to the wing mirror.
