Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 06-Feb-18 02:39:11

PS I was thinking earlier, has anyone noticed Ruby posting on GN? Since I came back on here, I haven't noticed her name. There's another member with Ruby in her name, but it's a different name.

Morning all. It's very quiet outside here tonight. MissA I've never tried old socks. Not sure that song thread was such a good idea. I've got a couple of new guided sleep meditations, but they all focus on the breath and I just end up coughing. hmm Just can't do deep breathing! I'm so out of practice and I know I should persevere, but I just can't be bothered. I'm suffering from Lethargy and Apathy. sad

I'm going out tomorrow for the first time since I came down with the winter lurgy at Christmas and of course I can't get to sleep. I even had a warm drink about 9 o'clock hoping it would help me drop off. I'm going to the hairdressers in the morning to get 2 months of white roots covered up and then I'm meeting two old friends for lunch. Truth is I just want to come home after the hairdressers, but I can't cancel lunch. Pathetic. Luckily I can have a nap when I do get home tomorrow.

Hope you all find away to get some zzzzzzzz. In my best Scarlett O'Hara voice "Tomorrow is another day". flowers for everyone tonight.

Hi misadventure. Hope you manage to get to sleep soon. I am still listening to music from the song thread. Not stressed about being awake there is no hurry for me to get up in the morning.

MissAdventure Tue 06-Feb-18 01:05:55

Having a puff on my e cig. It tastes like old socks.

MissAdventure Tue 06-Feb-18 00:56:58

Well, I'm still awake. Too many things on my mind. sad
Been listening to hypnosis videos telling me to 'breathe innnn... and outtt...' but they aren't working.

Oh morethan, this all rings a bell with me this morning. My daughter and husband are going away for the weekend to try to get their marriage back on track and I'm here with my GS. Fortunately for me, my DD is here to get him dressed as the Pink Panther before she leaves! It's pink day at school to raise funds for cancer research. Last night we made pink cakes to sell and he has to pay for the privilege too. It sounds as though you have your work cut out. OMG yes the homework! He has such a long school day and then homework which becomes a real battle at times. Hope you've managed some sleep! Hugs!

I’ve emptied the dishwasher. Mulled things over, visited post here Is it too early for brew ? I’ve got two little ones upstairs the settee is strewn with their stuff. Honestly poor little mites and poor me. They have before school clubs after school clubs, loads of homework spellings reading and such plus it’s no uniform day but they’ve got to wear somthing with numbers on. They need their school uniform to change into. I’ve packed their lunch in the school bags.Their school rucksack looks like their going on a years trecking in the outback. Oh and I mustn’t forget the £1 coin to pay for the privilege of no uniform day, plus money for the raffle? It won’t be the children that finish me off it’ll be the demands made by the school. Glad to have got that off my chest.

Anniebach your right the middle of the night is a lonely scary time. Thoughts seems to play over and over in our heads like a damm tape recorder. It seems so unfair that some people are given a rotten hand to play in life while others sail through. You’ve certainly had your fair share of heartbreak and the last few months have been particularly hard. I have no words to comfort you. I really wish I had. I’m up early worrying about my soldier son he’s only just returned to work after almost a year in Hedley court and he’s still in pain but struggling to carry on because he doesn’t want it to impact on his career, I’m very much afraid it’s too late and his career is probably going down the pan. It’s the fact that he’s still in pain that’s upsetting me. It’s nothing next to your worries I know and I wish I could get in into perspective and I will but in the middle of the night...but you already know that. flowers and a ((((hug))) to you.

This loss of sleep every night is exhausting , why is the middle of the night such a lonely time, I am alone every day and certaintly use to it, but lying here thinking is upsetting. Last week would have been our Golden Wedding Anniversary, .thank God I didn't know what heart ache lay ahead , just had dreams and hopes, to be together into old age, to have four children, retirement to the Cardiganshire coast, we had eight years together, we had four children but I buried three.

ninathenana Tue 30-Jan-18 05:52:07

Woke up at 4.30 when H took himself off downstairs. Normally it doesn't disturb me but I've been lying here awake ever since.

Ginny42 Tue 30-Jan-18 05:15:51

Awake. Hope others are sleeping. Got a bad headache last night with the worry here and came to bed early, so had a few hours sleep and now wide awake. Had a light breakfast and now body clock completely confused.

Ginny42 Mon 29-Jan-18 04:54:38

I have slept as I was so exhausted with it all. Yesterday was better. My DD and SiL had a long talk, she cried a lot, but things seemed better. She gave up a lot to live in another country far from family and friends. They have asked if they can go away next weekend, which is fine, but it leaves me here in a big house with 9 year old. We'll be fine. There are English speaking neighbours who I know, so I'm not exactly isolated.

Sorry to read about your family LL, it's all so hard isn't it? Don't feel alone. PM any time and I'll always get back to you. My DD is wonderful to me but now she needs my care. I tell her there's never been a single instant in her life when she's not been loved. That's part of the problem - SiL had a difficult childhood. He doesn't 'get' that when you have a child with needs, that child comes first.

Hugs to all. Hope you're sleeping tonight.

Luckylegs9 Mon 29-Jan-18 04:02:28

Sorry about your problems gin ny and cornergran, it must be so hard for you both.?
I don't sleep well, my daughter has not been interested in seeing me for years, now my son who is my rock doesn't have time for me with his busy life, dil, whom I love is impossible to get hold of, she is all her family. I have tried and exhausted every avenue and have to live with it, but feel alone with it.

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 29-Jan-18 02:26:28

Sorry to hear about the family problems ginny and cornergran. sad

I've been awake until 4ish the last couple of nights, but then I did get a good 5 or 6 hours. After having the lurgy for almost a month I am pretty much OK now. My cough is back to the one I've had for years and my croak of a voice is improving. All good.

Hope everyone gets some sleep soon. ?????

Gagagran Sun 28-Jan-18 07:33:32

So sorry to hear about your worries ginny and corner. No wonder sleep is proving elusive. It's impossible to turn off the brain despite feeling weary when you are so concerned.

Be strong - your girls will need you more than ever if their marriages come to an end. And even if they don't.

cornergran Sun 28-Jan-18 06:53:46

A reasonable night, just awake early. Don’t apologise ginny, I do understand, have been in a similar position for a number of months now. It’s hard to see . I’ve tried to remain neutral. Sometimes I feel very squashed indeed by it. I pick myself up for them but there’s always an underlying fear for all their futures. Wasn’t it easier when they were little and we could fix their problems? I hope you will be able to rest and not be too exhausted.

Ginny42 Sun 28-Jan-18 03:55:42

Been awake all night now and unable to settle. I'm currently with my daughter and family and it's becoming very obvious that her marriage is breaking down. I'm so sad but also angry with her husband. He loses his temper so suddenly and I can see she's working so very hard to please everyone. I would give anything for us to waken up tomorrow and it all be alright. Don't want to offend anyone, but even I have prayed for some intervention to bring a happier day tomorrow. She doesn't deserve this and my DGS certainly doesn't. Sorry everyone. Hope you're all sleeping peacefully.

Gagagran Sat 27-Jan-18 06:33:24

I've been up since 5.30 and awake on and off through the night. Normal for me!

I am so sorry you are feeling a bit vulnerable Wilma and I hope that you get the kind responses you need. Sometimes that's all it takes to soothe us isn't it? I am careful what I post on GN because of the sharp and unkind digs some people feel entitled to give.

Have a good day everyone and maybe 40 winks later? grin

Billybob4491 Sat 27-Jan-18 05:59:11

Hello Maggie, I am always awake from 3.00am onwards. Strange thing is I never feel tired through the day. Never owned an alarm clock, never needed one!

MaggieMay60 Sat 27-Jan-18 05:18:14

Morning all you early birds, I hope some one else is awake and it is not just me! Woke at just after 4 and know I am not going back to sleep sad.

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 27-Jan-18 04:47:56

I can just picture it! ?
