Is 5.45 insomnia or being an early bird?
Off to try to catch 45 minutes before I need to wake up

I've been awake since 4 am just given in and come down stairs.

Wide awake on holiday because I started to be ill this afternoon and my body sleeps to repair itself. Feeling much better now and even looking forward to breakfast! Two and a half hours to go ....

Thank you; makes me feel so much better to be understood. I made the mistake of seeing my ex husband of thirty years ago but the same problems have shown their face again. I can't be doing with people wbo just freeze you out on a regular basis. I'm friends with ex partner though cos he comes to walk the dog twice a week easier than hating each other.

Wot I’m so glad you made the break in August. Had been thinking of you as hadn’t seen you around. Don’t worry about the garden for now, it will all die back soon. Deal with the unwelcome loft guests though (traps? poison?). Can someone help you with that? Sorry you feel down but I’m sure it’s part of the big life change you’ve gone through, and well done you for doing it.
Sophie will get used to you moving about in bed. That made me smile. I hope in time you will feel less isolated but that does really depend on you getting out when you feel like it. Meeting other dog owners? Joining something?

Hello Annie, I managed to sleep last night (until 9.45!) Sorry about Honey xx since partner went I am having to share my bed with Sophie (large Lurcher dog) as we need each other's company! She doesn't like it when I move my legs though and that's the only time she ever growls! Hope you enjoy your afternoon.

4am, no one around, hope its because all are sleeping. My daughter coming down from Lincolnshire today , hope I will be able to stay awake this afternoon. If night is bad I usually sleep for about two hours in afternoon.

If I could just get rid of this anxiety/depression it would all be easier.

Thanks, Bella! No, I haven't moved but my partner of 20 years did in early August. Still trying to organise myself and the cottage which is going to be difficult in the winter, due to the wood/coal burner heating system, rats and isolation . Also, getting used to the idea of pleasing myself about cooking etc. The large garden is a worry too. I am grateful for a paid for roof over my head though!

Couldn't sleep as our heating broke down last night. It needed re pressurised, but as it was a new boiler, I couldn't work out how to do it. DH is no help with things like that. Phoned for an engineer and he was to come this morning.
However, I went on You tube and the manufacture's website was so helpful. Got it going, but decided to see if heating would come on in the early morning before cancelling the visit, just to make sure.
Lay awake half the night, so that I could cancel the engineer at 8'oclock if all was well. Then dozed off at 6.30am!!
We don't have DGD today, so I was so looking forward to a little lie in. I'm like a half shut knife this morning.
Hope everyone has a better day, than night. As for the rats,

Not blaming Paw for once but my bladder . Hmm Hattie thought she might check out the garden too so now I am wide awake, read the paper online, played a bit of Cookie Jam.
I know that if I go back to sleep (or try) one or other will request my presence.
But RATS * wot?* eek! You need a Jack Russell!

So much better with a cup of tea and a biscuit.
