Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

annsixty Wed 27-Dec-17 02:36:29

Hi, I'm here.. I resisted looking at the tablet for about half an hour but I had to visit the " smallest room" and am now wide awake.
My reflux is bad, told I need another gastroscopy, oh joy.
It seems colder tonight.
I hope to see a friend later but she rang to say she has toothache and will ring her dentist first thing so if he can fit her in it may be postponed. If so another day "trapped" in the house.
I hope by now you are all settled but ...

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 27-Dec-17 01:19:24

You too.

cornergran Wed 27-Dec-17 01:08:46

I know, they are a mixed blessing. It’s the Environment Agency automated service. I do what I’ve just done, look at the details and usually decide it’s too far away to be a problem. It’s not the content of the alert keeping me awake but rather the phone startling me. I signed up for it so I would be able to check what was happening if we were away. Not so sure it’s usually helpful though. Hope you sleep soon.

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 27-Dec-17 00:40:25

cornergran thank you, that's kind of you. Actually I couldn't agree more with you because for me sleep really is the best medicine. I can usually get over illness quickly if I can get lots of sleep.

What do you have to do if you get a phone call like that? I wouldn't be able to sleep either. sad

cornergran Wed 27-Dec-17 00:30:18

Sorry to hear you are unwell wilma. You never know all those remedies might just knock you out. Hope so, sleep is sometimes the best medicine -goodness, that’s my Nan speaking grin

I was dropping off when a flood alert arrived on the phone. We live in a flood prone area. I don’t think this will one impact us, seriously hope not anyway, but the jolt awake has me totally awake now. Mr C is snoring again. How do men do it!

Wishing all a peaceful night.

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 27-Dec-17 00:17:41

Merry Christmas to anyone I missed. tchsmile

annsixty that's hard on you, not being able to sleep when it suits you. I read a lot of your posts and know you have such a lot on your plate. I do admire and pay tribute to your love and dedication to your DH. flowers

I managed to sleep in two spells for a good 6 hours Christmas night, probably because I was exhausted again. I admit I can be terrible at pacing myself (still trying to ignore my diagnosis whenever possible tchblush). Usually DH keeps me in check, but it's hard for the poor man to do that on Christmas Day and I'm spending precious time with my Mum.

Unfortunately I've developed an awful case of the lurgy bug going round (probably got it at the panto of last week, sitting amongst all those germ covered little ones! Darn! tchgrin). I did try so hard not to catch it because I didn't want to be poorly spending Christmas with my Mum and lovely Step-Dad. It pains me to say as an Olympic standard chatterbox that I've almost lost my voice, although some might say this could be a blessing! tchgrin.

Can't see me getting much sleep tonight because I can't stop coughing. Plan to start sitting up with every throat sweet in my arsenal near by, Vic on my chest tchshock, a bottle of codeine linctus, a bottle of Gaviscon, a hanky on my pillow with eucalyptus oil drops liberally spread all over, Vaseline on my nose and a box of those soft tissues. And I've popped extra pills. Can't say I didn't try! tchgrin

Hope you all get some much needed zzzzzzzz tonight! {{{HUGS}}}

Hope you all get some sleep tonight and some rest from you troubles, worries and the dreaded reflux. A bit late to be wishing you all happy Christmas but the last few days have been a bit hectic. Sleep tight, God Bless x

Fennel Tue 26-Dec-17 11:36:05

Same here - ie what is it about 5.00am?
But I got a lot done this morning.

Billybob4491 Tue 26-Dec-17 06:07:22

Been up since 5.00am, no change there and now surveying the debris of wrapping paper, etc., surrounding me, had a wonderful day yesterday, clear up time today. Might find the energy later on to visit Next sale, there again I might sit on the sofa and finish off the rest of the chocs!

Anniebach Tue 26-Dec-17 05:07:47

5.00am, tried not having tea but have given in, couldn't sleep, wretched reflux. Ginny have fun with GS today

Ginny42 Tue 26-Dec-17 04:58:21

Awake for over an hour now and hoping to get some more sleep before GS wakens up for more of the same as yesterday. He's still investigating the things Santa brought so should be easy to entertain today. My DD doesn't get much time away from him so I suggested she might like to have the day with a friend at the sales so I shall need all my energy later.

fiorentina51 Mon 25-Dec-17 06:26:15

cornergran Mon 25-Dec-17 05:07:02

Been awake for a couple of hours. It’s misty outside, quiet weather I think. Bit achey but no real reason not to sleep other than ongoing family worries. I agree annie, don’t think selfish today. Hope you are all sleeping now, wishing you a happy Christmas

annsixty Mon 25-Dec-17 04:27:35

Yes Wilma he is, he sleeps well until about 6.30 when he gets up, he will not lie in. He goes to bed about 8.30/9 pm though.

NotAGran55 Mon 25-Dec-17 04:24:26

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 25-Dec-17 04:21:33

Still here. Got to get up at 8.30am. sad

annsixty it's very still here - mild too. Glad you dropped off tonight. Is your DH still asleep?

No such thing as selfish on Christmas Day Annie tchwink

Anniebach Mon 25-Dec-17 04:08:25

Happy Christmas to all x

Anniebach Mon 25-Dec-17 03:59:42

3.45am, tea and rennies. Wilma , 7 hours sleep does sound bliss, I settle to sleep at midnight and wake between 3 and 4, mug tea and back to sleep about 2 hours later , I so want 8 hours sleep.

Wonder if there will be anyone playing words with friends today, hope so. Oh that sounds selfish.

annsixty Mon 25-Dec-17 03:55:05

It appears quite windy outside,, well something woke me up and that is sleep over for me. For once I went off reasonably quickly.
It seems so very long ago when we had young children waking up to see if "he" had been.
Yes Wilma Happy Christmas to everyone.

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 25-Dec-17 03:07:33

As suspected that fab sleep was down to the long journey and several nights with only a few hours sleep. I can only have so many sleepless night before I get to the point where I can sleep up a greeny pole - then I zonk out for the night. Is anyone else like that? Last night I think I slept because I had reached the greeny pole stage on the day we went to Scotland - double whammy. So here I am desperate to get to sleep with rain sounds playing as I type.

Hope you're getting some zzz zzz! tchgrin
Merry Christmas everyone. ?????

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 24-Dec-17 08:00:01

Morning! We drove up to my Mum's in Scotland yesterday and it wasn't one of our best journeys with the weather and traffic. Lack of sleep meant I was dead on my feet when I got here, but I slept soundly for over 7 hours. Bliss! tchgrin

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! ?????

Willow500 Sun 24-Dec-17 06:58:27

I wasn't Annie but did go back to bed for an hour until my cat decided she was hungry! Hope you've managed to go back to sleep.

Anniebach Sun 24-Dec-17 04:49:36

4.35am, mug tea ,reflux bad and am so tired , hope everyone is asleep x

Marydoll Sat 23-Dec-17 06:59:41

I have toobeen awake half the night with reflux, I feel quite nauseous. I gave up at 5.45 and went down and made beef cobbler for tonight's dinner, it's one less job to do today and I was keeping DH awake. It's comforting to know I'm not alone!
I hope everyone with worries gets some sort of peace over the next few days.
