A time to stop, to pause to think. To remember and wonder what life would have been if............
My dd1 died 41 years ago age 7 months and I think of her everyday. Take care Maw. So many GNs will understand.

My heart goes out to you. I had the good fortune to know my son for 8 months rather than 8 weeks but I understand your pain. Like you I often wonder what the future would have been like but then wouldn't be without my daughters and grandchildren who wouldn't have existed had I not lost my son.

Sad day, I know because I share your pain, it never goes away. It is now even worse with the unexpected loss of my adult son. I know I should be grateful for the time we had but it will hurt forever.

Hugs from me maw. Look after yourself

My Mum had a still born little boy before me. She couldn't have more children after me. I always wonder how it would have been had he lived.

The other day a tiny coffin was being carried out of the undertakers in the high street. My heart went out to the family involved and to all those who have lost children.

flowers Maw I can only imagine how awful that was.
Our 2nd GS was born with congenital heart problems five years ago but fortunately surved after two operations in the first months of life.
Thank God for the progress of medical science since your very sad loss x

Maw, hugs from me too! flowers

I had a missed abortion of a baby who would have been born in October 1978 and I wonder how our family would have been if he/she had survived. That was our 4th - would we have stopped then or still gone on to have two more - who knows? And, you've made me realise why I'm feeling a bit 'down'.

44 years ago today I went into Queen Mary’s, Roehampton to have our first baby.We were thrilled at the arrival of our little boy but devastated when he was diagnosed with congenital heart problems and died a little over 3 weeks later.
I treasure the happy memories of the early days despite our grief, and it brought home to me the fragility of the miracle of life.
If life had been otherwise we probably would not have had our three lovely daughters, their wonderful husbands and four amazing grandchildren I would lie down in front of a bus for.
But today I will shed a tear not just for us, but for all parents who went home without a baby, or whose hopes and expectations have been dashed, I will allow myself to reminisce but most of all be grateful for how life has turned out.
