Last month, and again this month, there have been reports of healthcare workers accessing patient's records out of sheer nosiness. The most recent one was a midwife who then gossiped about her findings causing distress to the patient concerned.
Many times I have defended the local triage system where patients are asked to disclose information to receptionists when asking to see a doctor. I fear these cases will spook people and cause distrust to fester. Do you trust HC professionals with your information?
