Coffee, and sometimes tea. No alcohol at all, apart from a very occasional bitter shandy - that's about once every two years or so!
If I'm out i'll usually have lime and soda. Life in the fast lane for me!

I have got a bottle of Moet (in a posh box) that I was given as a present a few years ago... keep threatening to open it but just can't seem to bring myself to. It looks so lovely in its posh box. So I will save it for something very special (god knows what/when that will be). smile

Knowing my luck I will open it and it will have gone off

Tea, tea and more tea all day long at work. The stronger the better.

On a school night I drink Elderflower cordial mixed with soda water (bloomin lush) and on a non school night I like a glass or 5 of crisp dry white or a nice (red) Rioja depending what we are eating.

Freshly brewed coffee first thing. A couple of cups of tea during the day. Alcohol wise - white wine, the occasional glass of lager, never spirits.

I missed out a particular malt whisky, which I forgot because, at £50 a bottle, I don't get to drink it very often - I have to ask Father Christmas for it (have I been good enough this year? Hmm!). Sipped from a crystal glass, in front of the fire. Bliss! Then, when the glass is empty, stick your nose in and breathe the smoky, peaty, toffee smell it leaves behind. Big sigh emoticon! Other whiskys need not apply.

Tea first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Instant coffee during the day, do not like real coffee.
Alcohol is usually confined to pink champagne, which has to be a particular brand and is bulk bought.

I no longer drink instant coffee, I abandoned it a couple of years ago and don't like it much now, I'd opt for a tea if drinks are being offered in someone else's house. It's a coffee first thing from our coffee pod machine around 7ish another one at 9ish drinking it now. May have a third either very late morning or late afternoon. Not a big tea drinker but like it occasionally, fairly strong, and particularly like it when we have the occasional afternoon tea out. I sometimes have a peppermint tea for digestion. We try to be alcohol free most of the week, unless we are out and perhaps start on some red wine on Friday, but most of the week I drink sparkling water. When our kids and respective partners come round they often bring Prosecco and if we know they are coming we get some in. G and Ts are very nice, but only one, pre dinner they tend to be occasional but they are a treat when we have them as are Bellinis and Kir Royales and Champagne.

Tea first thing in the morning and in the afternoon is a must.

Instant coffee mid morning. We don't have time for the real stuff and DH doesn't really like it.

White wine

Gin o'clock on Fridays

Red wine only occasionally these days.....Maybe I should change my username?

Water with a splash of cranberry juice or my all time favourite soft drink, slimline tonic with freshly squeezed lime juice and lots of ice.....memories of childhood.

Chilled white wine (dry)
Gin and tonic

Occasional treat
Sherry - always puts me in a festive mood, and reminds me of my mum's delicious trifles
Irish coffee - a lovely treat after a Christmas / New Year's day walk with family

Blinko Wed 04-Oct-17 08:37:24

Hot chocolate with rum on cold days, (coming up!) I've seen it on menus called a 'Lumumba'. And for warmer weather, a cocktail of gin, elderflower cordial topped up with lime soda. All good!

Nanabilly Wed 04-Oct-17 08:17:34

Yorkshire tea made in a pot with a teeny splash of skimmed milk and no sugar.
Courvouisier (sp) with a splash of soda or lemonade.
Bacardi and come
A nice red wine
At Christmas I like a vodka snowball not from a bottle though I make my own snowball.

Greyduster Wed 04-Oct-17 08:15:40

I like ginger beer too, but my favourite is Fentimans. It tastes like the home made stuff that my mum used to make.
A large evening gin and tonic;
Good red wine with any Italian food, home made or otherwise. (Good red wine anytime, really!)
Bovril after a walk on a cold day.

NanKate Wed 04-Oct-17 07:56:40

Strong Italian coffee from our local coffee shop
Afternoon cuppa, sometimes Earl Grey
Bacardi and coke on a Friday night reminds us of our youth
Glass of champagne occasionally
And my all time favourite a Schweppes ginger beer

Near where I live there is a lovely coastal walk where you could end up at a hotel that serves the most delicious hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows - a rare autumn / winter-day treat. I haven't done the walk for a couple of years now, keep meaning to and I do hope the 'reward' at the end will still be a possibility!

downtoearth Wed 04-Oct-17 07:08:59

Tea and white wine, never coffee , or spirits occasional hot chocolate,

kittylester Wed 04-Oct-17 06:53:16

Tea made in a pot with real leaves every morning and at various points during the day.

Hot chocolate drunk sitting on the kitchen window seat, watching the birds in the garden, on a cold day.

Chilled white wine while cooking dinner.

Bellini at any and every opportunity!

Coffee and spirits never!

Gagagran Wed 04-Oct-17 06:51:13

Yorkshire tea! Can't beat a good cuppa.

Have been unable to drink any alcohol for the past 12 months, due to a stomach condition, but I did love a nice gin and tonic or a Pimms.

BBbevan Wed 04-Oct-17 06:46:36

Real coffee and elderflower tonic with a spot of gin

Imperfect27 Wed 04-Oct-17 06:43:56

As with food, I think particular drinks can have particular associations and evoke memories for us.

My 'drinks of choice' have changed over the years, but the ones that have a stuck are

REAL coffee - a must first thing in the day.
Camomile / Peppermint tea if I have been poorly.
Lucozade - ONLY after a tummy bug or similar - can't stand the taste of it at any other time.

Christmas / Easter: cherry brandy / port. These taste extra nice if you have them with chocolate finger biscuits ...bite off both ends and use as a straw 0- a bit like trifle!

Home-made snowballs.

Prosecco, a dry white / rose before a meal.

Red, red, wi-i-i-i-ine ... Friday = wine 'o'clock day!

What floats your boat?
