Well-am delighted to report mission accomplished! She had a meeting nearby so walked to ours about 10pm last night. She was told she could have a nap of up to 40 mins before 2am so she lay on the bed after lunch but. . . . They have the builders in so it was too noisy-lol!
So we had a cup of tea with both DHs then hers drove home to bed and mine went to bed about 10.30.
We settled ourselves down in living room-all lights on and temperature on the low side.
She'd brought Invictus DVD which we watched while she, virtuously, wrote her Christmas cards. From time to time we paused it to have another cup of tea and kept snacking on chocolate (so naughty!). After midnight a friend texted to say she couldn't sleep and how was it going so we had all had a chat. Back to DVD-V good. Then her dear MIL rang again to see how it was going. Back to more tea, choc and DVD. The time did not drag at all. About 2.30 friend who was next to entertain her texted to say she had had her sleep and was awaiting our arrival. So we finished film, about half an hour and drove round.
Friend had baked some small cakes. So we "had another cup of tea" (was that a Bernard Cribbins song?). Nattered on. Friend's daughter rang to ask how we were getting on too as she couldn't sleep either! I drove home about 5am leaving them to decorate small cakes. About 6am friend drove her home cos, of course, she isn't allowed to drive. Her DH was still asleep and she found the next hour and a half difficult. . . .but, she did it.
DH drove her to hospital for 9am, test all done. Now await results-phew!
