Just been trawling through the Hotter and Clarks ankle boots on the Internet, as I could do with a new pair, but the names! I like Everlay Mandy ones, (Clarks) but dare I go in and ask for them.?Then there are Matron Ella.Sounds more my age group.

I just got some great ankle boots from shoefits.org They had a big variety of them. I prefer the high heel ones though

I have found some wonderful black suede ankle boots which have a small "splash" of leopard print at the back. I got them from Debenhams and they weren't cheap, but I fell in love! They are an early Xmas present to myself.

Yes, that’s a shame MawBroon but they do come in two widths.I went into the shop for them, not online, and the assistant said they come in wide or extra wide. The wide were fine for me, and I have to say, not wide at all, just normal ( have never needed a wide fitting before).
But, to anyone contemplating buying them, they do fit snugly and I would describe them as being a sort of boot shoe, no room to tuck in jeggings/ leggings. They have a slight heel, and look great with jeans or trousers or for wearing a skirt with opaque tights.

OH! I want some suede ankle boots too! I think black, of course, but dark green would be nice too...........or red, maybe. Please let me know all you boot lovers if you track any down suitable for a would-be trendy, kind-of comfort loving 69 year old - TA!!

They do all fit slightly differently MawBroon so don't blame your ankles. I've got ones that are snug and ones that are loose. You just have to find the right boot. Hope your Hotter pair are them.

Aw Mawbroon, that's a shame, it's really disappointing when you've been looking forward to them being delivered and then they're not right. Sizing varies so much between styles and makes and so the Hotter boots might be better. I have 2 pairs of Clarks boots, different styles. One pair fits snugly around my ankles, the others are like 7 league boots and can only be worn with jeggings packed in them. Hope you get sorted.

sadsadsad
Picked up my Matron Ella boots and they are going back.
My ankles are swelling up these days and I can’t do the zip up comfortably .
I just hope my Hotter Pixie are better when they arrive.
Very sad and annoyed because I hadn’t realised my ankles had got this bad.

Suede pixie boots ( sued ones would be completely crazy)?

lemongrove Tue 03-Oct-17 18:52:09

Yes, suede ones are lovely, even more comfy and soft.I have some black sued pixie boots with fur inside, but I still want some some taupe leather ones(ankle) type.I have five pairs too, so a nice round six would be good.??

MawBroon Tue 03-Oct-17 18:02:15

Absolutely Trisher, nobody (except Paw ) would expect to get by on only two pairs of shoes (or 5) and the same applies to boots

Kim0612 Tue 03-Oct-17 14:49:43

I'm with you trisher, it's nice to have a choice wink

trisher Tue 03-Oct-17 12:39:14

Oh I don't need a new pair of boots- I have 5 ankle and 2 calf length but now I WANT some. I haven't any suede ones. I should have shouldn't I?hmm

DanniRae Tue 03-Oct-17 11:54:30

I wonder if Clarks have noticed a rise in the sale of "Matron Ella" boots? grin

Kim0612 Mon 02-Oct-17 10:36:49

That is the main thing lemongrove,

lemongrove Sat 30-Sept-17 18:59:08

Anyway, they are super comfy and look good too.?

lemongrove Sat 30-Sept-17 18:58:20

Just come on here and seen your post Kim and that is really kind of you, but ( drat!) bought my boots this morning.I should have checked GN first.?

Kim0612 Fri 29-Sept-17 12:31:24

lemongrove, if you wanted me to forward my instore code for 20% off then just inbox me your email address.

cangran Fri 29-Sept-17 12:15:35

Kim19 - well, you've gone and done it - persuaded me to buy a pair of Reiker ankle boots that I've been drooling over - sound very much like yours except in blue!

lemongrove Fri 29-Sept-17 11:58:24

NotTooOld grin Winter Nights, walking to the pub?

I am going to buy the Matron Ella I have decided, on so many recommendations.Need to go and actually try them on to get the right size though.I would also like them in tan colour , a suggestion to Clarks?

OurKid1 Fri 29-Sept-17 11:51:41

Thanks Kim0612 for that discount code! Just ordered my third pair of Matron Ellas, having had a pair since forever. I didn't know they were still available - the most comfy (and still reasonably stylish) boots I've owned. I think I shall call them Ella, leaving out the Matron bit, now that I know them so well!! grin wink Wish they did them in red though.

NotTooOld Fri 29-Sept-17 11:35:29

lemongrove grin

Hurrah, they've arrived - and they fit! Want to know if they have a name? They do - it says on the box 'Winter Nights'.
Winter Nights? What sort of name is that for a pair of black lace-up ankle boots and I don't mean that description in a sexy sort of way, more a walking in the country sort of way.

lemongrove Fri 29-Sept-17 11:29:03

These boots are made for walking ??

NotTooOld Fri 29-Sept-17 09:41:32

Overnight my boots have gone from Swansea to Leicester to Birmingham and now they are said to be on their way to me. They'll be worn out before they get here. No, lemongrove, I've never received an empty box of boots before although DH did once have an empty package delivered because the stuff had slipped out of a gap at the bottom and, mimiro, I hope they are nice (Skechers) but I wouldn't have thought they were desirable enough for anyone to break open the Amazon packaging and nick them although that's obviously what happened.

lemongrove Fri 29-Sept-17 08:42:48

I think that most shoes and boots have names BlueBelle
Or at least I know that Clarks and Hotters do.

BlueBelle Fri 29-Sept-17 08:00:48

Gosh a lot of posh boots on here Boots with names eh ?mine are just called Boots Having a difficult sore joint on one foot I can't order online ?
Gosh empty box syndrome How on earth would you be able to prove the Boots hadn't arrived what a dilemma glad they believed you
I didn't realise sketchers did Boots I ll have to look in my local shop that stocks sketchers
I ve got just one pair zip side that I ve had for years but hoping to look for some new ones this autumn
