paraumbilical hernia

Hello
iam 57 have been diagnosed with a paraumbilical hernia probably incisional .have been advised surgery but iam suffering from COPD and iam afraid i might have severe breathing problems after surgery
can i wait to have surgery ?
between the devil and the deep sea ?
has anyone any advice for me
will be grateful for any advice

No advice rama, sorry, but no doubt you can check out dr google, but with care, as its generally worst case scenario. discuss further with your doctor and perhaps someone comes on here who can help you. All the best.

Your doctors will be just as afraid as you are about doing this op with a COPD patient, and I am sure will make the best choices for your health, taking everything into consideration. Just make sure you menyion your COPD every time you see a different doctor so that there will bo no chance of mistake.

I think there has already been a thread about this hernia, but not with your complication, rama.
I remember it because I have the same hernia, but TG it only happens occasionally, and goes back in fairly quickly.
