My OH is going into hospital on Wednesday for a second replacement hip (left hip second time replaced), a big operation with a long recovery time.
We thought we would go out for a lovely Sunday lunch (our little joke-the last supper !!)
I booked a table at a restaurant we like and have been to a few times before. My OH cannot eat garlic and I had informed the restaurant when I booked, never been a problem before.
We arrived and were told what he could eat from the menu that didn't contain garlic. He could have either roast beef or chicken plus potatoes and veg, but no gravy as it conained garlic, a dry roast, no thank you. The chef couldn't make him some gravy without garlic !!
As you can imagine we didn't stay and will never go back there. So many restaurants cook everything in garlic these days. I'm sure OH cannot be the only person who cannot eat garlic or just doesn't like it.
We managed to find another restaurant and had a lovely meal, bottle of wine and no garlic.
I need advice for a mutually messy situation
