If you could choose 3 pieces of music/songs to be played at a special party in your honour, what would they be?
Mine:
Blue Bayou by Roy Orbison
The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel
Bad Moon Rising by Credence Clearwater Revival
( all have special happy memories) ?
Quite by chance, all starting with a B, but this is not an alphabetical game btw.

It's just so you can find your own posts later, gulligranny. Makes them stand out from the crowd.

Blooming heck, a mauve background again - I'm not choosing it, it doesn't show up when I type my message, so WHY is it posting like that???

gulligranny Thu 07-Sept-17 10:11:32

True Love Ways - Buddy Holly
Waterloo Sunset - The Kinks
Fat Bottom Girls - Queen

That's the choice for today, anyway! Nat King Cole wants to creep in there too, but I don't know which of these I'd ditch ..

Anniebach Thu 07-Sept-17 10:04:19

I want to add one but can't choose which of my three choices to exchange , cross now

kittylester Thu 07-Sept-17 09:55:03

I suppose one should be - It's my party but with no crying!!

nina I'm with you - have you seen how many times I've changed my mind! grin

Baker Street, Gerry Rafferty.
Golden Brown, The Stranglers.
Place Your Hands, Reef.

No particular reason for these choices...I just love them.

<nina sits in the corner hugging her knees>
She's trying to narrow it down to 3 and it's addling her little brain

Well if it's my party, it's got to be something to dance to. So:
Dancing in the Dark...The Boss
The Night...The Four Seasons
Love Cats...The Cure

I'm having a bit of trouble here as I'm trying to think of songs that mean a lot and would go down ok at a party.
What I've got in mind.... Billy Jo Spears
Turn a different Corner..... George Michael
Positively 4th Street.............Bob Dylan.

Mine are just some of the tracks that I've liked for a very long time lemon, although I have a particular fondness for Love Shack because it used to embarrass my DS when I used to sing and dance to it! grin

I would like that 'sounds of silence' by disturbed, now that I've been reminded of it!
It is a superb cover.

?Choose 3 every day, how long will your party go on for?
Is everybody choosing music they just like , or do the tracks have special meaning to you?

Willow500 Wed 06-Sept-17 17:53:34

Too difficult to chose - off the top of my head

Sound of Silence - Disturbed
Watch Over You - Alter Bridge
Phoenix - Fall Out Boy

kittylester Wed 06-Sept-17 16:11:06

Let it be is playing now - quess what?

gillybob Wed 06-Sept-17 15:15:29

That's so true MissAdventure .

DH says that if he hears The Smiths playing when he comes in the door he knows I'm in a black mood.

MissAdventure Wed 06-Sept-17 14:56:36

The Smiths are easy listening for miserable souls like us, gillybob. grin

gillybob Wed 06-Sept-17 14:54:06

Love The Smiths MissAdventure

I got my "Never mind the B*ll*cks" album confiscated by my dad, who I later found out had given it to his friends son!
angry doesn't even cover it.

paddyann Wed 06-Sept-17 14:20:36

Connected ,by Eric Bibb
Iron Sky or Autumn by Paolo Nutini
Edi Readers version of Rabbie Burns John Anderson my Jo

that is of course this morning ,my list will likely change by teatime.I have a huge collection of CD's and Vinyl but there usually a track by Eric Bibb and maybe Paolo on the list somewhere ...for now

MissAdventure Wed 06-Sept-17 14:10:28

Its difficult to decide just 3
The sex pistols - pretty vacant
The Smiths - how soon is now
The Byrds - Turn.
Today, anyway.

kittylester Wed 06-Sept-17 14:00:31

I'm so fickle!

Just listening to Rod Stewart singing 'first Cut is the Deepest' and I now want that.

I definitely want 'Paradise by the Dashboard light' as my daughters and I do it brilliantly.

And 'your Song'! As it's our song.

For now! grin

Mapleleaf Wed 06-Sept-17 12:15:45

Paolo not Paula!! ( Flippin' auto correct!)

Mapleleaf Wed 06-Sept-17 12:14:26

Difficult to narrow it down to 3, but here goes:
Dancing Queen -Abba
I'd rather go blind - Ruby Turner
10/10 - Paula Nutini

I could go on, but as it's only three...

MissAdventure Wed 06-Sept-17 12:13:35

One of my exes used to play that tune to me when he was drunk! He would sing along, with his lips trembling, and chin wobbling! Not a pretty sight.

gillybob Wed 06-Sept-17 12:11:58

or rather "You were always on my mind"

"Like hell I was" grin
