OH (very very thin, has PD) was prescribed a truss for bilateral hernias. After wearing it for 48 hours, he now has a nasty ulcer on his haunch, which is being dressed by the nurse at the surgery. He cannot now wear the truss till it is healed. I had put padding inside the truss from the start to try and prevent it rubbing, but it was clearly not enough. I used Scholl shoe padding, but this is clearly not enough.
I thought I would consult the collective brains of Gransnet to see if anyone can suggest how we might safely and sensibly pad the truss when he is able to use it again. We don't want him to look all lumpy, but we do need him to be able to wear the truss as he is not fit to have surgery for the hernias.
Over to you!
