I'm in Staffordshire. . . . I'm intrigued, where are we all? I know some are abroad.

Jane10 - we've been here a while, projected move will be back to northern England when DH retires, but who knows where or when... I've just posted on the thread for Edinburgh meet on the 16th but may not be able to make that one.

Marydoll - yes, it's very often lovely and sunny in N Berwick, but we're still on hols in Teesdale today where it's a bit more mixed.

Hampshire, just north of Portsmouth smile

Ellen My DH and son are playing golf in East Lothian today, the weather seems to be lovely there today, from looking at the photo they sent. It's not very nice over here in the west. sad. Lucky you!

So you've moved Ellen? Easier to come along to Edinburgh meet ups?
There's one next week...

An exiled Lancastrian living by the sea in East Lothian.

That would be great, oldgoat. Enjoy your day! smile

maggiemaybe Sorry that you can't make the meet-up next week. I have been to several in Scotland where my daughter lives and am determined to organise a meet-up closer to home. It's such a pleasure to spend time chatting to other Grans. York is full of potential meeting places. Perhaps we can plan something for after the school hols.? I'll speak to the other people at the Thirsk meet-up and try to agree a date.

Recently moved to Caddington, near Luton, after 37 years in NW London.

AlgeswifeVal Sun 13-Aug-17 08:09:18

Am I the only one from Chelmsford Essex.

Maggiemaybe Sun 13-Aug-17 08:05:39

Ah, we're away that week, oldgoat. Thirsk would have been just about possible for me, but as I'd be on the train somewhere like Leeds or York would be easier for a future meet.

"Dee" , you can take the girl out of Glasgow, but you can never take Glasgow out of the girl...or so they say. I wouldn't know wink

I was Glasgow born and raised , Marydoll ...but a long time gone. I have lived on the Herts/ Essex borders for over 30 years and also spend half the year at my home in Southern Spain.

I don't often post , but I do enjoy reading everyone's posts every day.

Marydoll Sat 12-Aug-17 22:36:53

Is there anyone near Glasgow?

oldgoat Sat 12-Aug-17 22:31:20

maggiemaybe Is Thirsk too far for you to travel? kupari is trying to organise a Yorkshire meetup on the 22nd August at the Garden Centre near Thirsk.

Maggiemaybe Sat 12-Aug-17 08:23:21

Fancy a Yorkshire GN meet-up some time?

I would, oldgoat, though with current commitments I could only do a Tuesday, or occasionally a Friday. Perhaps we should start a new thread on the Meet Ups forum?

TwiceAsNice Fri 11-Aug-17 23:56:51

Surrey previously lived all my life in South Wales

Maggiemaybe Fri 11-Aug-17 21:41:43

And to the others across Yorkshire - Greyduster, hulahoop, Kupari45, oldgoat, maybe Moneyboss grin, and any I may have missed. I'm a Geordie by birth, so am still a bit of an incomer here after a mere 45 years.

Maggiemaybe Fri 11-Aug-17 21:21:06

Oh, good! I'll give you a wave next time I'm on high ground, Katey! smile

Kateykrunch Fri 11-Aug-17 20:26:25

Magie, I'm a neighbour of sorts, in South Yorkshire on the border with West Yorkshire.

Suki70 Fri 11-Aug-17 20:12:41

Moira, I'm in Beckenham. We had a Bromley local editor for a short while, who had lots of good ideas but she seems to have disappeared from the scene. A local group covering a wider area could be a good idea. Suzied we often go to the La Bruschetta cafe at Crystal Palace.

Maggiemaybe Fri 11-Aug-17 20:10:02

Welcome to GN, mh58. I hope you enjoy it! Have you looked at the newbies' thread? www.gransnet.com/forums/gransnet_cafe/1238702-Welcome-to-Gransnet?pg=3&order=

I'm in West Yorkshire - any neighbours on here? smile

GrandmaMoira Fri 11-Aug-17 19:18:47

Suzied - you're quite close to me. My DGC go to school there.
Madgran - whereabouts are you?
There are five of us now on this thread from SE London. Could we set up a local group or even have a meet up?

TheMaggiejane1 Fri 11-Aug-17 12:04:05

Bedford.

mh58 Fri 11-Aug-17 11:49:06

I'm in Belfast. This is my first post! I have been enjoying reading recent posts and hopefully this will get me started.
