I'm no longer bothered, either, although I do still love a bit of warm sea once a year. Have done loads of travelling in the past, inc. plenty of the far flung and exotic, and we also, lived in the Gulf for many years. Dh still often has itchy feet and has been on a few trips on his own, but mainly his own relatives across the pond, and Ww1/2 battlefields. We are both happy for him to go on his tod, we're not one of those couples who have to do everything together all the time.
One reason I've gone off it is that I don't sleep well nowadays, so I HATE being cooped up in hotel rooms, with nowhere to escape to. Short breaks close to home, pref. by car, self catering with a spare room where I can listen to the radio at 3 a m, suit me fine. I do find airports a complete PITA nowadays - funny how I used to think they were so exciting!
Whoever said, LEAVE ME ALONE!! - I feel just the same about the odd friend/relative who thinks I 'ought' to be dying to do a tour of Vietnam/China/you name it. I've seen loads of Indonesia and Singapore - Dh was based in both for a while - that'll do for the Far East, and we 'did' Thailand/Malaysia, years ago. Even if I won a free trip I just don't think I could be bothered any more.
OTOH I still have a yen for lots of places in the U.K. we've never yet made it to. A few days, just jump in the car and go, lovely.
