Jacksmum and Annesixty. It was a really perfect day and yes, a saucy white/cheeky red always hits the spot! ?
Today the High Court has agreed that children can be given puberty blockers.
We went to Ikea. Never going to go during the school holidays again. Why do yummy mummies think it's OK for their little poppets to run around and climb on things? It's a shop not a playground. Fortunately we knew exactly what we wanted so didn't have to stay too long whilst Felix, Imelda et al ran amok. Later we went to B and Q. Not a yummy mummy hang out so it was much better.

Cleaning out another shed. There are some pretty freaked out spiders in my garden this week; it used to be spider heaven here. Feel rather sorry for them. Have bought a new hosepipe as have been hosepipeless for a while and I can't begin to describe how happy I am to have one#easilypleased
Yesterday was mainly shopping. Walked to town but was rendered giddy with excitement when I found we've a free shuttle bus home for the next few weeks, courtesy of the water board who are digging up our roads. Then discovered that what I always thought was a bog standard off-licence up the road is a purveyor of fine liquor and had the whiskey DS wants for his birthday. Result!
Today (Sunday here) and since Friday morning I have been babysitting three joeys. DD2 takes in orphan joeys. So much work, two are babies and are in their pouches most of the time, one has started hopping and the other can't quite hop yet. The babies wear nappies all the time and have four/five bottles each a day. The oldest of the three is outside all day but still needed me to carry her back to my house at night and give her some apple and put a nappy on her, she sleeps in a larger pouch.
Have you ever tried putting a nappy on a kangaroo?
Trying to pack the van and clean the house ready for tomorrow without over straining my still achey back. DH talked about cancelling but it's our holiday with the children and I'm not letting a bit of back pain interfere with that. I'll take painkillers and the TENS machine with me and use as and when.
Faye How delightful to be babbysitting joeys
Dug up some plants from the front garden and planted new ones. Took old plants up to DD and planted them for her. Cleaned duck weed etc from pond. It is a lovely day here so outside things get done. Tomorrow it is supposed to rain and we have a tree surgeon coming to chop down one tree and trim an oak. Should be fun !
Washing, washing and more washing! Just got back from holidays at 4.0am this morning. Now absolutely shattered and need another holiday.
Just got back from inspecting the local police cells (voluntary job) and found my house guests still asleep in the garden, hadn't missed me.
Not a lot really after this mornings session in the garden, as a bit of a throat and tired, so sat on GN and read all afternoon.
Was supposed to be blackberry picking this afternoon but don't really feel up to it.
Made a Lamb tagine this morning so just have to hear it up later. Might have a bit of a dose!!!
Nice day though
or babysitting even!
That's a lorra lorra plums, grannysyb.
DH picked about half that amount today which should nicely make our first batch of wine.
Such a lovely day.....Comfortably warm rather than stifling hot, no wind and plenty of sunshine so after pegging out a line full of washing I planted out rocket and mizuna, fed the tomatoes, carried on with endless weeding then cooked lunch.
Maybe I'll pop out and do a bit more weeding before gin o' clock.
Changed bed, washing on and out ( why is it so bl***y difficult to hang kingsize duvet out single handedly! )
Ate rice pudding and caught ( catching) up on ? box !!
Red or white? Don't mind rose either - I'm just not proud!

...still cleaning sheds....garage tomorrow after I've been to the tip. The S.O. says I need to be enrolled there as he has been driving all my clutter there.
Decided to blackberry after all. Picked enough for a couple of pies in the winter. They have gone straight into the freezer. Time for a glass of red methinks - soothe my throat
I'm afraid my king size duvet goes in the tumble drier whatever the weather now. I used to feel guilty on a sunny day but the last time I struggled with it the line snapped and I decided enough was enough.
Bacon and egg sandwich before a garden tidy and the beginning of a move around. Catch up tv and GN while Mr C had a nap, chat to one son on the phone (he phoned me and didn't want a thing
), produced a roast, now it's feet up for the evening. There's still some chilled white in the fridge with my name on it for later.
.
Had a good walk across local moorland to see the heather, came home, had a sit down and then a shower. My lovely neighbour brought me round a huge carrier bag full of plums from his tree saying it had been a bumper year. I am insanely jealous because my plum tree never produces anything! The plums are delicious! Pies and crumbles are calling......
Up early, and a good yomp round the local fields ahead of a lovely family barbecue at the inlaws' this afternoon. I spent the journey there carefully juggling a chocolate cake and rhubarb and bramble pudding in the back seat of the car to avoid damage/spillage, then managed to shatter my glass cake stand all over the floor of the car on the way home. This may or may not have been due in part to my having partaken of rather too much alcohol this afternoon
Home now, and I'll clear up the mess tomorrow. Perhaps a liqueur is called for to round off a lovely day.
Tidied kitchen, fed dog, made breakfast, bath/dressed/made up, took dog for a long walk.
Went with husband to vegetarian Indian restaurant near Euston. Looked round the Wellcome Gallery. Bus to Leicester Square, walked to Trafalgar Square and then down to the Thames. Had a relaxing boat trip from Westminster to Greenwich in beautiful sunshine. Home via the Docklands. Lovely day.
Up quite early (but not as early as I should have) to get to stables and muck out (should have done it last night). Brought horse in, fed and watered her, then off for an impromptu picnic at one of our favourite NT spots with DD, DSIL and the two delicious DGS's. Lovely lazy afternoon in the sunshine then back to stables for a riding lesson in the evening sun. Horse feeling very lazy after two weeks off so I had to work blooming hard, worked up quite a sweat although horse much less so
.
No housework done yet again, but my stable is pristine
I've been at work all afternoon and evening. Sleeping in at my work now. Home mid morning tomorrow.
Cleaned the fish tank! Yay!
