I have just arrived home after a few days away in Exmouth. Time to crank up the washing machine and get that bloody song out of my head.

Administered to eldest GS. DD away and GS was at Sussex doing a course, but we had an SOS on Monday to pick him up as he was ill. Thought he might have tonsillitis the way he was describing his illness, but it turned out to be a bit if man flu and a genuine bit of illness!! Back today as he is recovering, still throaty but not so bad.

Typed the agenda for next week's WI meeting, also short newsletter which I emailed to all members (well the ones who have email, nearly all). Made new soap from the dried up ends of bars of soap I save. When it has matured for several weeks it makes a useful bar of soap. (Yes, it must be my Yorkshire genes!)
After lunch DH and I joined a local walk in our lovely Tamar Valley. Two and a half hours and quite a challenge but fantastic views and lots of interest.

A lovely day with DD2 and her two. Took DGS4 for a long yomp, then checked my Myfit smugly to find not one single step had registered (I forgot it can't recognise I'm moving when my hand's on the pram handle). Felt virtuous for sipping black coffee while they all scoffed lovely food, including a choc brownie with golden sprinkles and a Turkish Delight filling. It's my 5:2 fast day. Just clearing the decks for our smart meter fitting tomorrow, before settling down for the sob fest that is Long Lost Families.

I have not crossed the doorstep.
I was out yesterday so that was enough.
I prepared tonight's meal which entailed putting a piece of gammon in the slow cooker and prepping veg.
I made onion sauce which I promptly forgot and it burnt on the bottom of the saucepan.!!
I cleared the dining room of camping equipment which I bought and gathered for my S and his partner and their children , they have decided not to go so I have had the job of deciding just where to store it for the unforeseeable future ?

DS and family just left after staying for a week. Bit sad so stripped their beds and bathrooms. Towels now washing. Booked Panto tickets for Boxing Day. They will be coming for Christmas. Will keep busy today as it seems very quiet without them all ☹️

BB I'm always bereft when family members leave after a visit and get the urge to move things around. I loved my doll's house when I was a girl and still enjoy moving all the furniture. It's a way of keeping busy and cheering myself up.
Today I've done hours of gardening and mowed the grass as the rain stopped and a strange hot light appeared in the sky, which I just about remember from long ago.

To Buckingham Palace .... not to see the queen as she's elsewhere. Had to settle for the Royal Mews with the lovely horses and carriages.

GC now running riot and I'm about to have a glass of wine.

Having a massive de clutter; currently working on the garden/shed/garage. I've never [as a hoarder]thrown so much stuff out in my life. The S.O. loves painting fences and always seems to be painting his own, so I've got him to paint mine and I, too have discovered the joy of slapping Ronseal on a fence. Trouble is, it's a bit like pruning; once you start you can't seem to stop...[just had a cup of tea break]...and, unlike decorating the house you don't have to worry about wonky edges or drips on carpets...

Ironing, tidying, chasing off a canvasser for our local council election (one of the councillors was killed), deciphering the BT bill, lunch with a GN friend, picked up a parcel, walked on the beach, finished it all off with a large hot chocolate with all the trimmings. Feet up now, all out of steam.

Spent yet another afternoon trying to sort out problems with DH's new iPhone, which thinks it is my iPhone because he set it up wrongly. On the phone ages with Apple who were very helpful but have only solved half the problem it seems, so we will have to go back to them. I can't face even looking at the b****y thing at the moment.

Been to watch football at the Special Olympics in Sheffield, where our daughter is volunteering. It was fabulous and a really enjoyable morning with great teams.

toook down all the bedroom curtains washed dried and ironed them and put them back up,threw out two venetian blinds while I was doing the curtains,they were definately past their best,cleaned all 4 bedroom windows ,inside and out ,well they open in so its easy ,vaccumed dusted and tidied downstairs ,thought about making dinner but decided against it ,OH eating out at a business do so I'll boil an egg or something later .Ordered a couple of Christmas presents online ,not many more to buy so I'm on target with them.Chatted to my sister for an hour on the phone after hearing my Aunt died at the weekend ,she was 90 and had dementia so not really a shock or a surprise but Sister and I had a good laugh about the past when we were young and Auntie was a fixture in our everyday life ,she brought me an orange and a doughnut EVERY morning from I was about 10 months until I went to school .Two GD 's arriving in the morning so a busy weekend ahead

I made a hedgehog cake for my DS 45th birthday! Then went out to lunch with my pottery class members, then a visit to the library, finally to a local cafe for Welsh cakes and nice cup of tea then home for a rest!

Prepared lunch and dinner. Vacuumed round. Put washing in, hung out to dry and bought it in. Went to bank and hair dressers. After lunch went to Dd3 and took DGS to the park whilst his Mum and Dad got packed up for their holiday. Gave him his dinner. Returned home with their two elderly dogs who are holidaying with us. Walked dogs. Had dinner and caught up with some paperwork. Called Dd2 to make arrangements for our weekend away. Feet up now with a cup of coffee.

Just crawled out of the car after 4 hr trip home.

We did have however a lovely day at Stonehenge.
As predicted by Jalima the weather was lovely.
So have ticked SH off my bucket list

Stayed in all morning waiting for contractors to fit our new smart meters, neither of which have worked since they left (but I'm pleased to see my next bill is estimated to be £0 ). Reading group at the library then a little walk to the shops with two dear friends, and a mocha at Maccie D's which I really enjoyed even when I realised it contained more calories than my lunch. Now making soup with DH's surplus allotment courgettes - how nice that I'm still apparently using no gas or electricity. These smart meters are truly magic.
