Are we spoilt? First world problems

Peacocks are very noisy creatures.

Okay, now I feel inferior because we only have one loo. But we were the first in our road to get a dishwasher so there!

I'd have chucked a jug of water after the peacock BTW.

Oh and if there's anything that sets my DH off, it's the printer playing up. I reckon it's because he leaves all the IT to me - he can't cope with not being in control!

Well, it might be in use for several years so you wouldn't want it decomposing too soon!

Perhaps a bucket made from eco friendly material Ana and preferably one which could later be recycled.

Or a portaloo just outside the kitchen door.

I think a bucket would be a handy solution for BB and her downstairs guests...

But - if you have white goods which no longer work what would you do with them willsmadnan?
I hope that JL, Curry's etc will take the old one away and recycle it responsibly, otherwise I would pay the Council £15 to do just that.

And BB has a knotty problem re the guests using a loo, yes it is a first world problem, but as that is where we live, what do you expect, a third world problem?

There are sites on the internet which will match china dinner sets and possibly expensive crystal glass sets if you look.
Expensive, but I am sure it would be worth it to make sure you have a matching set.

I once had to serve wine in some glasses which didn't quite match each other, the shame of it. I have never lived it down.

So you think someone who hasn't considered the environmental effect of chucking out white goods willy- nilly by just saying a 'man ' will take it away is taking the piss? What a smug lot of consumers some of you are.

Jalima do you honestly for one minute think I am going to worry my little head about what the man is going to do with it? I have far more important things to concern myself with - I have just broken a wineglass and now no longer have a matching set of six for my next supper party - and no I can't replace it, the set were specially made for me. I shall just have to go and buy a new set.

OMG ...BBbevan and Rosearered are now discussing the 1st world problem of not having enough ensuites for all their guests, and the distinctly non-u prospect of someone trespassing in someone else's personal privvy. I give up .... I really do!!!

Sorry to go a bit off track but I must message BlueBelle, I was only young then and at Kowloon Junior school. We have a photo of my baby sister having a bath in a pink bucket. I think it used to contain washing powder.

What if you have a visitor who isn't staying - do they have to go upstairs and use an en-suite loo?

The more bathrooms/shower rooms the more jtoilets there are to clean.

Re the dishwasher problem - if I buy a new one I then worry whether the old one will be recycled and the metal re-used or it will just be dumped whatever JL say!
One more thing to add to the list of worries, besides the printer(s). Do they get recycled properly?

We didn't have this problem before the computer age.

If not, do not invite anyone to sleep on the sofa!
Very infra dig to go to the loo in somebody elses ensuite.

Just a slight aside kittylester we have just moved into a house with 3 showers, all en suite. If someone comes to stay and all bedrooms are occupied and they have to sleep on the sofa, what is the etiquette about them going to the loo in the night?
Really spoilt if this is a major problem!!

And I've ordered another shower! My problem now is - will the village plumber, who is Greek, be able to fit it before he goes to Greece for his annual 3 week holiday at the end of July?
