Glasses - I lost my favourite pair this morning in the supermarket sad Cheap lavender-framed reading glasses, 15€. So I'm wearing a tartan-framed pair now.
Hope I get my old ones back on Monday.

I had two pairs of those huge glasses with different coloured frames to go with different clothes.

One of the engineers at work noticed I had two different pairs of glasses and asked why. I said I changed them to match the clothes I was wearing. he was bolwed over by the idea and always treated me with immense respect after that smile

I'd watch Bullseye again, just for Jim Bowens humour, priceless!!!

I was compared to Nana Mouskouri in my narrow, black glasses, then used to get called Deirdre when I got the huge ones. I looked nothing like either of these women!

Yes of course! You are spot on, Pensionpat, I'd forgotten that.

But some of these outsize Deirdres!

That must have been the same era that Deirdre Barlow had her large specs.

Mr P sometimes watches (quite late at night) old episodes of the game show "Bullseye*, and I confess to usually watching "Pointless" when I come through to the sitting room after listening to The Archers blush.

This has recently been replaced by old episodes of "Catchphrase"

Apart from the women's hairstyles, confused the biggest stand out feature has been the glasses shock

They are HUGE !! One contestant on this evenings programme was wearing a pair that came down to just below her cheekbones!

PS The old episodes of Bullseye are also worth watching for the "fashions" and playing "spot the white socks" among the chaps.
