We look after a house whilst the owners are away a lot of the time in a well known band. They have a wonderful swimming pool that we have permission to use. We swim there everyday. They are not back until December. Blisss.

I was thinking it was some kind of paint technique.

Storm in a —heated pool— tea cup.

Oh never mind which thread it's on. Does it matter? How brilliant to be able to skinny dip like that. I bet it's a lovely HEATED pool, possibly indoors? No-one should be embarrassed about their body. If you visit a naturist beach you will see very few people with perfect bodies. Most of us have lumps, bumps and scars and they are nothing to be ashamed of. We Brits are far too prudish.

It's not in the least bit weird to make a mistake/do something wrong because it's new to you. Especially about such unimportant things. I think a few people could do with a skinny dip in a cold pool just to chill a bit ?

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 03-Oct-17 09:38:02

Just to say we have moved this into chat

Imperfect27 Tue 03-Oct-17 08:46:28

Well now, getting back to the OP - how nice for you! And as far as skinny dipping and questionable 'beauty' goes, I think Reubens would have loved me!

And 'Mad as a box of frogs!' could be a good new tagline ... it seems so apt for a lot of us here!

MawBroon Tue 03-Oct-17 08:35:37

I know, if somebody is going to “name drop” it might have been worth dropping the name. hmm?

Riverwalk Tue 03-Oct-17 08:30:20

I'm more interested in the 'well-known' band - wonder who they are hmm

MawBroon Tue 03-Oct-17 08:24:55

Nobody said it was (a hanging offence)
Just weird.
How often does a person go on a site called Gransnet and “search”for a thread on Skinnydipping.
Come to think of it, why doesn’t GNHQ initiate one?

Riverwalk Tue 03-Oct-17 08:20:48

Give Monsoon a break! She probably searched for 'skinnydipping' and up popped this one. Gardenman started the thread in the wrong place but it's hardly a hanging offence.

annsixty Tue 03-Oct-17 08:15:33

It's a box of frogs in my house and I certainly know lots of folk who fit the description.

BlueBelle Tue 03-Oct-17 08:11:52

So good you have to say it twice ??

Auntieflo Tue 03-Oct-17 08:09:42

Oh dear, fat finger syndrome this morning. Sorry pardon.

Auntieflo Tue 03-Oct-17 08:09:05

Precisely Baggs. That's why I (mostly) love GN. It can be mad as a bucket of frogs, serious and helpful. Compassionate and funny. Carry on grans, and as ANother would say, ''as you were''.

Of course she could, but she didn't and it doesn't matter.

BlueBelle Tue 03-Oct-17 06:11:30

Monsoon could have started a thread in a more suitable forum for her story maybe ?

Baggs Tue 03-Oct-17 05:39:48

Because monsoon had a story to tell. A good story too. You can look back on that and smile, monsoon, or blush. Or both! grin

I don't look at threads' forum titles usually. I assume people have got them right. Occasionally they haven't. Do I care? Nope.

BlueBelle Tue 03-Oct-17 05:17:32

...and why has it been resurrected ???

MawBroon Tue 03-Oct-17 00:28:42

What HAS this to do with Arts and Crafts?..

Monsoon Tue 03-Oct-17 00:05:11

I and a friend were on holiday in Corfu. One night we decided to take our clothes off and skinny dip in the sea opposite our hotel. It was quite late and no one was around, so we cast off our clothes and ran into the sea; splashing around and giggling , it was heaven. We then heard a man's voice saying whose are these clothes on the beach. Looking over to where the voice came from we saw Willie from Inverness. Still giggling we tried to hide from him, but there wasn't anywhere to hide, so we shouted Willie it's us, over here. I'll gather your clothes up for you and put them down here. It seems we'd been rather reckless and cast them off across the beach. Willie turned his back whilst my friend and I came out of the water; it was then the flashes started going off and we realised that we were being photographed by other guests staying at the hotel who were drinking in the hotel bar...we gave a bow then ran as fast as we could away from our public.....winesmile

Maybe the use of the pool was wangled craftily by Gardenman 99?

Jalima1108 Sat 29-Jul-17 21:17:57

grin a bit chilly for skinny dipping!

Anniebach Sat 29-Jul-17 21:14:47

I have been seeking a new craft, I will pass on skinny dipping, Welsh rivers are beautiful - to walk or sit by or do a bit of canoeing

grannyticktock Sat 29-Jul-17 20:24:07

Well, I'm quite envious. The idea of a private skinny-dipping pool is delightful (even if its artistic merit is questionable).
