Is it rude to ask what happened to Jings? I have spells of not using Gransnet , and must have missed something.

merlotgran Sun 04-Jun-17 17:46:11

grin

She very rarely touches alcohol!!! shock Certainly not at home. And no, she doesn't mind in the least bit, now. But at the time she was very very upset.

And the worst thing she said to GNHQ was when she politely apologised for being unable to reciprocate the good wishes they expressed to her in their final email. Understandable under the circumstances perhaps.

rafichagran Sun 04-Jun-17 16:06:29

Very sad, I cannot see why anyone should be scared of anyone one here. This is not real life. I just enjoy reading and posting on the forum. Really have no worry about what people think of me. I think it is sad that * Jings* was banned, but not going to worry about it, as I am sure she doesn't.

Hey! Watch who you're calling old! I'm 72 years young.
(90 years old in body 32in mind)

MargaretX Sun 04-Jun-17 14:54:50

I remember jings from the first weeks in GN. I got the opinion that she liked wine a bit too much and there were some 'strange' comments. Then she seemed depressed. She was not in control of her outbursts BUT whatever she did she did not deserve to be banned.
Actually we don't know what she replied to GNHQ
merlotgran calm down its not like you to be so abrasive.
Its only an Internet forum for old women -its not real life.

Last gran standing

Jalima1108 Sun 04-Jun-17 14:38:14

There were ten in the bed and the little one said
Roll over etc etc

merlotgran Sun 04-Jun-17 14:37:17

There's a place for everyone to be nice on this forum. Enter it at your peril if you disagree with any of their protestations. Even Cari was made as welcome as the plague!

Why can't the rest of the forum be the 'free for all' it used to be?

trisher Sun 04-Jun-17 14:29:47

Oh hell does that mean we are only going to get the sort of people who want everyone to be nice all the time, no wonder GN is getting more bland and boring.
As the title of this thread is 'disappeared' maybe we could play a game and start reporting someone and see how long before GNHQ removes them, and carry on until only one is left. Bit like the balloon game.

Obviously to you, mcem.

mcem Sun 04-Jun-17 13:35:24

Mountains and Molehills!

Ana Sun 04-Jun-17 13:29:34

I do hope all these 'friends' have joined now and that there's no one else they're afraid of...

Ana Sun 04-Jun-17 13:28:08

What a load of cobblers! hmm

(not you, merlot)

merlotgran Sun 04-Jun-17 13:24:34

The Gransnet mafia is alive and well and will continue to make sure the whole site is run according to their needs.

Nobody needed to be afraid of jingl. It's hypocrisy that ruins Gransnet.

Notme Sun 04-Jun-17 12:48:35

Further recall of the email from GransnetHQ. (And in the interest of complete transparency).

Apparently a number of people were saying their friends wanted to join Gransnet, but they were afraid of jingl. So HQ had no option but to protect the site.

That's it now. smile

ninathenana Sun 04-Jun-17 11:52:08

A while ago I read posts about there being cliques on here.
I said out loud to nobody in particular. "Well I don't think I'm part of a clique" My D's reply "Mother if you have to ask then you are part of it"
News to me ??

harrigran Sun 04-Jun-17 10:47:48

Didn't know it was that easy, be interesting to see who else disappears.

trisher Sun 04-Jun-17 09:51:45

So is the lesson to be learned from this if you want to get rid of someone keep reporting them and GNHQ will eventually get rid of them for you? There have been lots of comments about cliques and such existing, but it strikes me that this is an opportunity for some people to get together and do their worst.

Alima Sun 04-Jun-17 07:30:19

Ahh. Thanks for letting us know Notme. General exodus to twitter?

Notme Sat 03-Jun-17 22:43:14

Right. Here it is, from a source close to jingl.

She was banned because there were so many reportings of her. In the email she received from HQ informing her of their decision to ban her, they said there was no one particular incident, just the number of reportings coming in. They said they were a small team and couldn't find the time to deal with it.

She did not have any arguments or fallings out with GNHQ. In fact she still exchanges pleasantries with CariGN on Twitter, (where she tweets as 'moonlightandroses') (All followers warmly welcomed smile).

She has never been racist or incited anyone to hate. (where the flip did that come from anyway?!!!) confused

Cherrytree59 Sat 03-Jun-17 19:06:28

Maybe so KatyK but she could also be very kind and supporting.

KatyK Sat 03-Jun-17 18:58:11

I don't normally comment on threads such as this. I think it's great that we have all sorts of points of view and personalities on here. However, on occasions I thought she was rude and offensive. It never bothered me much. I would never get so offended as to report anyone to GNHQ. I would just take no notice and carry on.

rafichagran Sat 03-Jun-17 18:48:42

I liked Jings, yes she got a bit techy with me when I did not reply to one of her questions, and it made me think you bloody wait, I will reply when I am ready, but on other occasions she was kind and supportive of me.

There worse than her on Gransnet, and they do not have her sense of humour either.

ninathenana Sat 03-Jun-17 16:46:37

mrsmopp she did that but somehow GNHQ found out.
Hmm, I wonder how that happened hmm

No, it wasn't me. I'm a jings fan, she livened this place up.

mrsmopp Sat 03-Jun-17 16:31:12

Could she not sign in again but using a different name?
I think she did offend a lot of people with some of her posts and other g.netters have clicked the Report button once too often, resulting in her getting thrown off.
