Would have been better if the person who posted the request had given their own phone number and vetted any callers

Yes, I can see now that there could be a problem. I just hops she has someone she can call upon to be with her when someone comes to collect stuff.

Might have been netter just to post the stuff on freecycle.

I can see the person posting was trying to help but can also see the fact that there are many unscrupulous people out there who could take advantage of her being on her own and elderly possibly help themselves to other items or monies.I don't think you should ever post tel numbers or address on forums for open viewing.

Giving the full address and making the comment that the lady is elderly and on her own would worry me, too!

I don't really see what the problem is - it sounds as though the person who posted the message was trying to be helpful. I'm sure the old lady does know about it.

Hope she gets someone to help her.

I'm really concerned that someone posted tbis on our local social network this morning.
'An elderly resident in H**** Avenue is moving and needs someone to remove 3 beds and a three pce suite to tip or whoever may want them. If she phones Council they insist they are put outside but she is elderly and on her own. Can anyone help her - if so please call her on 252 **.'
I've deleted the name and number from this post but she gave full details.
It concerns an elderly lady in the next street to mine and there is a SOLD sign at her gate which makes her even more identifiable.
I've replied to the OP ( not the Old Person smile) raising my concerns but the damage is already done. I hope the old lady knows about this .
