Skimmed through. It's a wedding. Unless I know the bride and groom personally I don't have any particular feelings about it. I do however wish them happiness.

Carole Middleton has beautiful slender legs, she looked fabulous.

I would imagine that the Middletons, especially Mr. would have been perfectly happy just to get on with the wedding without all the hoo ha. Yes, it was OTT but how many other wealthy families have weddings like this which we don't know anything about? Hundreds I should imagine. The press and the public show an indecent interest in anything to do with money, excess, celebrity and royalty and gloat in it. If that's how they want to spend their money, it's their prerogative and who are we to comment? And who are we to comment on who wears what? I think some of the outfits, outrageous as they apparently were to some people, show a bit of individuality and why not wear what you want, so long as it doesn't offend? In my opinion the media interest was excessive in the extreme but that's how it is these days. I think the Middletons conduct themselves very well on the whole, with one or two exceptions, considering being thrust into the limelight and becoming outlaws to the Royals.

I think the entire Middleton family conduct themselves extremely well. You never hear Carole (from the council flat incase we didn't know) and her husband making any comments. I think the only time I've actually heard them speak is when they visited the hospital after the birth of Prince George. I also think she also dresses extremely well. Similarly with Pippa, who is often accused of acting like royalty. When does she ever open her mouth or do anything to warrant such comments. Catherine has married into the royal family so they are related to two future kings. Would it be better if they all got jobs cleaning in the local pubs?
I think the wedding looked a beautiful happy occasion. No, i wouldn't have put the little pageboys in those gold pantaloons but then i put my lovely bridesmaid in a puffy emerald green number so who am i to comment

I thought the wedding looked to be a very happy family occasion. The bride had a lovely smile and her dress was exquisite. The two mothers were very elegant too.
Harry and William kept a low profile, and I think it was right that Harry's gf didn't show up until the evening. The children were cute and well behaved. Nice to have the Norland nanny to help so Grandma Middleton didn't have to take over when Kate and William wanted to mingle.

I was 2nd hand, with a child when I married (happily) for the second time. I was also Very Thin. I could eat whatever I liked and didn't put weight on, sadly that isn't the case any longer.
I saw the photographs on line this morning and was pleased to see a happy, radiant bride. They have pots of money, who am I to put my judgey pants on, moaning that I don't like the Middletons or the Royals, resent the coverage their lives get - then comment on a gransnet thread. Not so disinterested then.

As the Royals were so exacting when it came to Charles marrying Diana, I am amused I suppose, that some well worn women make it into the ranks.........if she does, plenty of time for that to fizzle out. Fergie wasn't much to write home about just poor old Diana had to be a virgin. Why we are bombarded with details of their love lives is beyond me but they make everything seem to special, when actually it is mundane except for their need to impress us.

I am not impressed with Harry or his choice, so I would sooner hear and see none of it. Most papers had extensive coverage today of the wedding when there are far more pressing things to be concerned about.

All the parents looked radiant - it spread money around to caterers waiting staff etc etc - it gave the media some column inches and social comment - most people love a wedding - don't watch it read it if you don't agree with it but it's their money their prerogative to spend as they wish

Didn't watch it and I don't have any interest in society or society weddings they pass over my head I d rather see things about real people and these don't really class as very real to me .....but that's my opinion only , each to his own I don't wish them anything only good but I don't want to think about the money spent which I find totally obscene

It was all very elegant and I hope that the young couple are happy. However, the last wedding I went to was on a shoestring and it was very enjoyable and not at all 'posh', everyone had a lovely time.
If you're marrying a multi-millionaire it's all right to spend so much I guess. Now, where can I find one?!

Just saw a few pics of the wedding on tv, it all looked lovely.The bride looked very elegant ( and yes, very thin) but so did the groom.Perhaps only poor people are fat nowadays ( reversing the trend.)
The pillars of pink roses looked great ( I usually observe the flowers at weddings before the couture.)

I quite agree, Downsized. Maybe some things about this wedding weren't what we would choose for ourselves, but so what? And surely every wedding has guests that turn up in an outfit that makes you wonder whether they possess a mirror! It's all part of the fun and joy of celebrating a marriage and makes it memorable.
