What would Leonardo Da Vinco come up with now?

Sadly although the Da Vinci code was a great success and has brought shedloasdds of cash to Rosslyn,it has totally ruined the place.Ialways loved going there and wandering photographing the stone and even tracing the shapes with my fingers...alas no more ,When we took my canadian cousin there last year there was a woman tour guide on the altar and everyone had to sit/stand and listen to her spiel..which went on and on and on.Ruined the whole visit,Before Dan Brown and while the renovations were under way we even managed to go up on the scaffold ,up to the roof without a tour guide.I probably wont go back .

I'd appreciate him inventing some sort of Klaxon for my garden as a reminder of my oven when I just 'pop out' to the rubbish bin and end up pottering for........HOW LONG...... ?!

I think he'd be busy inventing a super duper rocket for space travel - he was very interested in mans potential to fly.

Elegran.....I know people visit Rosslyn. I can't make my mind up whether they truly believe the book or want to see such an interesting church with it's links to the Knights Templar. Sadly I think it will be the former for a lot of visitors.

Leonardo was a polymath - artist, architect, engineer, inventor, anatomist and much more. He must be one of the greatest geniuses of all time. He wasn't just brilliant and imaginative, he applied himself, whether to satisfy his creative powers, his intellectual curiosity or to push forward the boundaries of knowledge. He must have had tremendous energy.

He a!so invented contact lenses. My hero!

I did a late BA Hons degree in History of Art so Leonardo featured pretty heavily in some modules. I adore his wonderful paintings and drawings, and at the time I read a book by Michael White 'Leonardo As Scientist'. I really do think he was a scientist/inventor first . I upset my tutor saying that!

A homing device for lost reading glasses, keys etc would be good.

If only someone could invent a glass magnet! When any glass breaks it shatters into so many minute bits that it's almost impossible to find them all. A magnet to attract the pesky bits would save much time and temper!!

Something simple but useful (to me) would be the ability to turn car wheels by a right angle so you could slide sideways into a parking space parallel to the pavement!

I fed up listening to recorded messages, and being told 'that my call is important to them.' If it was that important, why isn't there someone on the other end answering it??

I'd like Mr. Da Vinci to make sure that every call centre is staffed with real people to deal with my problems!

Hollycat My mobile has had that facility for ages. It is called an OFF button. Alternatively, there is throwing it onto the back seat, out of reach. Do you think I should patent this and license the patent to Nissan? I could save them a lot of research and development money.

VQ Rosslynn gets invasions of tourists who believe every word of Dan Brown's book/film, and even expect to see a "descendent" living there. Well, there it is in black and white, isn't it?

Hi Sunseeker, Nissan are currently working on a shield, built into a box in the seat arm of a car, which stops the signal getting through. So before setting out you place your phone into the box and are not tempted into taking calls while driving. Da Vinci would be chuffed!

I enjoyed the book and the film but never for one moment thought it was based on fact. I don't understand people who mix up fiction and fact....mind you when I think about what's in the media

Yes, Mawbroon Dan Brown's silly book, twisting fact and myth for the ignorant and translating "Rosslynn" to mean Rose Line when anyone who has been anywhere near the place knows of the cliff (ross) and the waterfall (lynn), to say nothing of Ross-on-Wye and all the rocky peninsulas with ross in their name, and all the waterfalls with lynn in theirs.

Da Vinci was, indeed, amazing. There is a church in Venice which has an exhibition of working wooden machines made from Da Vinci's drawings.

I think he'd be working on ways of living under the sea. He'd be planning huge undersea cities with areas joined by magnetic motion tube trains and power from some sort of generator powered by hydrogen extracted from the sea water. The by product of which would be oxygen which could be safely released into the atmosphere or collected for medical use or .....oops I'm off on one lol
