TriciaF I completely understand your reaction, it was not at all OTT. Some people just do not understand the importance of chocolate.

I used to hide my chocolate in the old unused spin dryer which had stuff stacked on top but our daughter found it in there! Who would look on an old rusty spin dryer?

I wish she would come and find the choc eggs I bought for this years Easter egg hunt and the Christmas table cloth from 2 years ago, oh and last years holiday maps and info which must all be hiding away somewhere.

We also have the empty packet put back in the cupboard syndrome. But equally annoying, wrappers left on the worktop within a few inches of the waste bin.

Keep mine in fridge. Tastes even nicer!

My husband rearranges things in a different container hoping I won't notice he's eaten some! On subject of empty boxes we found an old Warham mer box recently in a top never visited cupboard. Texted son excitedly to tell him. Dusted box. Opened it. It was empty! He said he couldn't believe we have kept an empty box for 20 years!!

Christine I'm like that. I have a favourite chocolate bar (dark choc and mousse) which I can't always find.
To my shame, when DD1 and her partner were staying with us she gave him one from my stash, I jumped up and snatched it out of his hand . I did give him a different one instead, but he didn't like it.

Ah ha ! definitely a hanging offence ....got a trick ,,,,take one largeish empty plastic NON SEE THROUGH freezer container (use your usual type for when you freeze home made things etc so as not to arouse suspicion), buy box of choc ices ..remove from box ,,place in new freezer box ..seal and lable 'Chicken stew' or something ...especially something he doesn't like for instance.......replace empty choc ice box in fridge ..and wait .......

I am a professional when it comes to hiding my chocolate stash.......it has never been found by DH yet ! Or anybody else come to that.A little ingenuity is called for.
I don't eat much, but it must be there when I need it .?

My DH was dreadful at putting empty boxes/containers back. Pills were a nightmare as he'd leave empty boxes in cupboard, when I checked I would assume he'd plenty when in fact he'd nearly run out.

I always had dark chocolate in my hiding place safe in the knowledge that no-one else would touch it. Choc ices however weren't safe, milk or plain they disappeared. Cheese was always eaten quickly so I resorted to buying cheapest cheddar & special cheeses like stilton & brie, no-one except myself & DH liked them

My DH does the "leave a little bit" trick. And uses up things without putting them on the shopping list. I try to keep an eye on the rubbish/recycling bins for evidence but when I fail to catch him - Grrr!!!

Oh isn't that so annoying, times that has happened to me.

I have a stash of cheap little Easter eggs in the cupboard. They were bought for an Easter egg hunt, but we ended up with too many. When I really need chocolate they'll be there. Right now I want a slice of bread and butter but we're going out for Sunday lunch so I'm trying to resist.

My children would never completely empty a box or packet - they would always leave a tiny bit of whatever it contained - a spoonful of cereal or half a biscuit. Then when I said 'why didn't you throw this away' they would reply 'but we couldn't, it wasn't empty'!

Just about to change the sheets. I found OHs side of the bed covered in brown stains. At first I thought it was animal related, or worse. Then I found a ramekin dish with a single chocolate chip in it. He'd raided my cooking supply and had a midnight feast while I was asleep! Hanging offence, yes. Or death by lethal chocolate injection . he is suffering for it. And as for guzzling a whole tin of sardines, well.

Can a pedant please tell me the correct usage of while and whilst.
