From Intensive care, just over three weeks ago, two days after my op, to just now, with my gorgeous baby girl. ?

I've never had a reaction to acqueous cream. It has always helped skin problems I've had. Whereas baby oil and wet wipes cause problems. It's the perfume. I think Vaseline intensive care spray contains perfume too. If I avoid all perfumes I don't have skin problems.
My gran used to use pure almond oil from the chemist. I hope you don't have further reactions on your sore legs.

Ruby, you are a tonic. All these firsts, did you block the drains after your bath? . The trip out tomorrow sounds good, I know you said just there and back, but perhaps you could find a nice coffee shop and have a cream cake (small) to celebrate. Oh, I see you are taking Maggie, well then, next time. About your sore skin, have you tried Bio Oil, I used it on my knee after a replacement, and it was magic, and it smells nice. Wow! What a beautiful cake, thank you. I shall have a piece with my first brew in the morning, yummy. I have just ordered a bit of birthday food, I have to have a trifle, my parents always did one for me as a little girl. Luckily Asda deliver for £25 so just got some curries, candles and Cushelle (other toilet paper is available)! No birthday is complete without these things.

I have come out in blisters and really red sore skin where I rubbed some Aqueous Cream in the hospital gave me, on my shins because of the tightness due to water retention. I put it on a day or two ago thinking it would help ease the tightness. I wiped it off earlier with a baby wipe then with an antiseptic wipe and just now I have had my . . .

First bath!!!! YIPPEE So I have bathed both legs without any product and will now use some Bach Rescue Cream, which I am now using on my scar to help it heal.

Has anyone else had problems with Aqueous Cream or with Vaseline Intensive Spray? I've been using this too so that it just sprayed out and I didn't have to stretch to rub Cream in or touch very sore skin. It does look quite bad, like it's burned.

Anyway, between myself and my lanky offspring, we have managed to get my scooter to the back door and now it is currently charging up, hopefully for a trundle to the park tomorrow with my little Maggie. It'll be another first if I manage it. Just there and back, no touring the shopping precinct like I normally would. It's like learning to walk all over again, all these firsts. I have yet to go out to be sociable, only been to clinic and doctors up to now. I can feel a cafe calling! Maybe we should set up a meet in the next few weeks, I've missed out on a couple. First though I have to treat my Aunt Ann to a posh fish and chips lunch out, she truly is a star and I now love having her in my life. Her phone calls really brighten my day. ?

Well, I'm off to look sexy in my thermal top and pants with my knitted bed jacket round my shoulders. I am such a catch, I can't think why men aren't queuing up at the door, declaring their undying love. ❤️? Chat soon, take care, all my love. Xxx

Hello Ruby, glad to hear that the 'onwards and upwards' seem to be working. Now that it is a wee bit cooler I hope you are managing to sleep better, but don't overdo things as you begin to feel stronger. Your son is doing well, looking after you and himself, good lad. Sorry to hear about your leg, it must be so sore. It's lovely to have you back posting on a couple of different things, so take care.

Aw, thanks for your encouragement, it makes such a difference to me to hear you all. Thank you for worrying, although I don't want anyone to get stressed out at all, I'm doing a lot better than even two weeks ago when I came home. All scab bits off now, moisturising so scar doesn't show too much and skin becomes softer. Legs still swollen and sore, stockings cut off when I came home, large sore underneath which I did tell a nurse was hurting but she took no notice. Told doctor so the officials know I've not got stockings on now but mobility is as good as before I went in plus blood now water thin with this medication.

I've got a few days off Warfarin clinic, till next Monday, I was 2.4 today. Went in clinic ambulance and it was very tartly, so really sore when I came home. Slept and codeine and not too bad now.

Son been really good up to now. He's doing some jobs for me, feeding and watering me, keeping me company for an hour or two then he goes off to have some time to himself, which is for the best, our own space a bit. I really hope now that we can get some of the time back we should have been having these last few years instead of anger and frustration being told wrong off my cardiologist that it wasn't my heart making me ill. I hope we get time to laugh together again and have some fun and joy back in our lives. The only way to do it is to build it back up slowly. He has admitted that he's been terrified these last few months. I knew he would be, I know him too well. He's now on anti depressants, which I obviously don't want him on but I am so glad and proud that he went for help. So many don't and have tragic consequences, my niece committed suicide at 27 years old and shook me to the core when I heard. He is planning his future so things look better. I am so glad.

I've still heard nothing off my daughter even though I emailed and text her telling her what was happening and that I love her and my grandsons and always will. Nothing. Ah well, she has my number and e mail address so maybe one day but until then I will plan my future to some degree for now and enjoy the people around me, including all my gorgeous friends on here. Thank you all so much, I love you all. Xxx

I get A.F. at times. I listen to talking books to take my mind off it. Then it soon goes back to normal. Get them free from library.

Overdoing things during the day could mean you don't sleep so well at night, so pace yourself and I hope you get a good night's sleep.

I'm glad your zip fastening is mending well too, I have one that stayed lumpy for a long time and was given silicone gel strips to flatten it.

It is very easy to overdo it in the joy at being home. Do take it slowly.

It's dangerous, this feeling better lark, ruby time for a rest again . Hope you get a good sleep tonight and your son is home soon - and behaving himself .

ruby it's a well known fact that the more tired you are the less you sleep its weird isn't it? But you will catch up again

Good about your scar. I do think some surgeons are better at scars than others. My scar on my bosom is wafer thin which I was pleased about.

Oh dear. This recovery lark is all ups and downs. Two steps forward and one back - but it's still forward.

Hamsters like to keep busy. Perhaps more toilet/kitchen roll tubes for him to destroy!

Over did it! Bad night, bad dream and son not home until tomorrow now. Still, painkillers, Maggie cuddle and tv, yeah. Hamster still demolishing his house. ?
