I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

When I was a ten year old and in the Royal Liverpol Childrens' Hospital, all my classmates wrote me letters. They were very precious to me, little pictures drawn, news of school, home life, jokes, I loved them, each and every one. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, I no longer have them. I wouldn't have got rid of them. But the memory is still very clear and cherished.

The messages posted here are very much the same, in our modern times. Each message meaning the world to me. When I get home and back to a decent computer, I will look through them all again and see if it is possible to print this thread off. Your words of encouragement arr keeping me going, making me feel special in our little GN world. Xxx

Another little cry this morning, due to being tired and frustrarted that rest is hard to come by. The nurse backed away slowly, closed the door and I slept for another three hours. I had been woken up by gorgeous James sticking needles in the back of my hand at 6.30am! Gorgeous or not, he wasn't welcome at that time... Iron levels low, but I told them that, see doc tomorrow.

I'm taking up a bed now so it won't be long until it's done. Just want to wake up after it, that's all. I will post as soon as I'm able.

It was lovely to chat to Ann and looking forward to her visit this week. Anyone can phone if they want 0702 363 7869 for my bedside phone.

You all take care, speak to you soon, keep the jokes coming, they make me laugh. Lots of love Xxx

I was away for a bit then had a very busy few days with family so have just been catching up on this thread Ruby. You must be so frustrated at being there so long - I do hope things get moving more positively for you this week.

I remember going to visit an uncle in a Convalescent Home in Hastings, many many moons ago. He was the one telling us jokes, such as
Why did the butterfly flutter by? Because he saw the dragonfly drink the flagon dry!
and
What noise annoys an oyster? A noisy noise annoys an oyster!

Well, I was still a child grin Get well soon and thanks to Ann for keeping us in touch too.

Not much happens at weekends Ruby. Hope you will have some definite news soon. It's good that ann can keep us up to date, good to know your little dog is well looked after, happy to hear you are in a more central room, and hopefully you are able to chat with other people. Looking forward to more news from you. X

Hello ruby nothing much on tv tonight!!!! Hope you aren't too bored. Just think of the excitement when you get home from your dog, he'll be beside himself.

Hope you are feeling reasonably comfortable and the food isn't too bad. Still it has its compensation you don't have to make it or wash it up.

Have a good night and we will be all pleased to hear from you

Best wishes

Whitewave

Ruby we are all rooting for you and I wish you a peaceful nightmoon

cornergran Sat 20-May-17 17:07:27

Thank you for the update, ann, I can feel Ruby's frustration. Keep those spirits up ruby, this won't be forever. Pleased all is well with the little dog, I know how important that is. More grapes wine for ruby.

Elrel Sat 20-May-17 16:49:05

Annsixty - thinking of Ruby, wishing her well and so glad she has you as a friend able to visit and phone.

Greyduster Sat 20-May-17 15:13:06

I am so sad for Ruby. My BF was very ill last year but no one seemed to know what was wrong with her. She spent weeks in hospital with hardly anyone telling her what was going on and tests and procedures set back and set back. She had a family who kicked up a fuss or I'm sure she would still have been there now! I hope Ruby gets something done soon.

Long chat with Ruby today.
She is no further on with news of her op, she has a little more fluid retention so was having bloods done today and having kidney function checked.
She is in another room, still single but she doesn't have her own loo, however it is more central and with her door open I think she can see more going on.
Her spirits are still good but I think it is more resignation.
The news of her little dog is good so she is happy about that.

Ruby
Hang on in there!
Beast wishes from me!
( for what they're worth )

Charleygirl Thu 18-May-17 22:16:41

Ruby you do sound in good spirits which is great. I hate to tell you that The Chase is no longer on ITV. If you hunt around you can find it on Challenge but it is not always filmed in the UK. I have only watched it once since it moved so I do not know if they are repeats. You know what I am speaking about, many others will not!

You will really appreciate your dog when you get home but you must be careful that you do not trip over her. I do hope that surgery is sooner rather than later so that you can get better and discharged.flowers- look after yourself.

Cherrytree59 Thu 18-May-17 22:16:10

Wishing you a peaceful night Ruby moon

FarNorth Thu 18-May-17 22:11:40

ruby you just have to tell them to give info to ann. No need for porky pies about your aunt.

It's nice if you want to adopt her as your aunt, all the same smile

Auntieflo Thu 18-May-17 21:20:04

Hi Ruby, you are still upbeat, bless you, and I am so glad that you now have an honorary aunt, Ann. We are all rooting for you, and you are in my thoughts often. Hope you get a good night's sleep. Night, night, God bless.xx

Jalima1108 Thu 18-May-17 21:14:10

brew from me [halo]!

What I would like to know is - how do they get all those flowers ready for next week? In perfect condition, just at their peak.
I'm not sure about 'cutting-edge' designs, I like a bit of tradition myself smile

cornergran Thu 18-May-17 20:33:26

Hang on in there ruby, lots of flowers, cupcake and even more wine - even if you aren't allowed it smile.

merlotgran Thu 18-May-17 17:16:13

Glad you're doing well, ruby Chelsea with Monty will be just the ticket for perking you up.

flowers and wine for when you're allowed.

rubylady Thu 18-May-17 17:12:11

White wave, you had me confused then, it doesn't take much, lol xxx

rubylady Thu 18-May-17 17:09:55

Ann you can be my Aunt if you want, they know I'm not in touch with my mother. It would be feasible, I'm 52, my own Auntie would have been 90, which I know you are not, so I could adopt you as my young Aunt. I will tell them that you are allowed information.

I will pm you.

Thank you Aunt Ann Xxxx

whitewave Thu 18-May-17 17:06:23

Xposts. Pleased to hear from you ruby I'm watching put your money where your mouth is. It's pouring out.

You'll have to get Chelsea on play back.

Have a good night.

rubylady Thu 18-May-17 17:00:01

Aw, you do cheer me up. I don't have anyone else who has known me for a while, so it's nice to have you all around while I go through this. I wish I could send you all huge bouquets of flowers ? to thank you all but alas, I can't. The wish is in my bicuspid heart though and I think of you all too, many times during my days. And I don't get eggs for breakfast, TOW, smile.

My throat's sore today, after the tube/camera yesterday. Plus the intubation tube too. Plenty of fluids, nice food and tried to sleep earlier but gave that up due to all the noise. Back sore too, really need my own bed today, and my little doggie by my side. I am missing her like crazy, I think I'll be crying for a week when we get back home together. I try not to think about it but it's very hard not to. The ward has improved a bit better, I've got used to some staff and my room but obviously want to be home.

Ah well, no The Chase so Pointless it is, keep the little grey cells ticking over. Plus YouTube has come in useful too, to watch the programmes I can't get on this tele. I bet any money they say they'll do it on Tuesday, when Chelsea starts! And no one at home to record it for me. Ann tape it and I'll be round, watch it with you and Roy. smile Xxxxxxx

whitewave Thu 18-May-17 16:59:02

No news anyone?

callgirl1 Thu 18-May-17 16:16:40

All the very best from me as well Ruby.

Bellanonna Thu 18-May-17 08:24:33

Same as everyone else and lots of love. The sooner you have this done the better as waiting around is horrible. Maybe we can have more jokes? Sorry I can't help there! Pecker up and all that x
