I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

Hi Ruby. Sorry to hear they've extended your sentence ?. Here is a joke (which you have probably heard). A young doctor was asked to give a talk to a local women's group on marital relations. He was embarrassed to tell his wife what the talk was about, so he told her it was about his sailing experiences. The day after the talk, one of the ladies met the doctors wife and said "we so enjoyed your husband's talk. He really knows his subject doesn't he?" "Really?" said the doctor's wife. "He's only done it twice; the first time he was sick and the second time his hat blew off!"

Hi Ruby, sorry to hear that you are being incarcerated for another week, at least you are being fed and watered. Re Phoenix's joke, I hope you are more awake than I was when I read it, I wondered what on earth she was doing posting about car park theft. Sorry. Will drink my coffee now and get ready to go out shortly. If Ann visits today, I hope she doesn't get too delayed on her way to you, because of the dreadful happenings in Manchester. Best wishes and chin up.

Well I have never seen French firemen that good looking, maybe I have just been in the wrong town.
Another week Ruby ? you deserve an endurance medal.

I have to stay an extra week! My blood pressure is through the roof with the sight of those firemen! Similar to the porters in here! lol Xxx

Theft in multi storey car parks, wrong on so many levels......

Hi Ruby, you have lots of GN friends wishing you well and home soon. Really hope you get some sleep tonight, you'll probably have naughty dreams of firemen now!!! Here's a pic of 2 of our cats staking out a molehill, they can hear it, and are getting annoyed ....we need your little dog to dig it out! Also some pics of our very weedy garden. Best wishes and sleep well xx

Hi rubylady - I've just been getting up to date here (been in hospital for an op myself, back home next day). I can't believe you're still waiting for your surgery! Still, maybe it's needing careful planning, monitoring and so on - best not to rush things sometimes. I really hope things start to move for you soon, so you can get back to your little doggie and begin your brand new life, feeling healthier than you've done for a long time!
Keep smiling - and when you start to feel a bit down, just have a look through Elegran's link to get your spirits up again (don't tell the doctor though, he might say the excitement's too much for you grin)

Willow500 Mon 22-May-17 21:36:52

Lol Elegran - I certainly enjoyed looking at the calendar so hope Ruby does grin

Hi ruby - just catching up with your thread and sending love. What a long time this is taking. It was good to see you stay positive and also, that your little dog is well. Being in hospital is tough but being away from your dog adds to it in a big way.
I'm going to be away for a couple of weeks, may not have internet and if so, I'll catch up when I get back .

I do hope your op goes well and that your recovery is as good as can be. You'll be snuggled up with your dog before too long x

Katek Mon 22-May-17 19:26:42

elegran....,grin Hope you enjoy your calendar ruby!!

Elegran Mon 22-May-17 18:08:24

Here are some more pics of firemen, Ruby, or rather of pompiers (pumpmen) or French firemen.
They don't seem to be wearing their fireproof gear!
Hope it cheers you up!

Le calendrier 2017 de Pompiers Sans Frontières

There is a bit in the French text which says "s'il y a bien un endroit en danger de feu imminent, c'est votre petite culotte."

It translates as "If there is a place in imminent danger of fire, it is your panties . . ."

Moneyboss Mon 22-May-17 18:06:56

Hi Ruby, I'm new to gn and don't think I could ever catch up on past threads but going forwards I'd like to wish you well and hope you're home soon.

Willow500 Mon 22-May-17 17:13:46

Just to be different here's a picture of a fireman for you Ruby grin Big fire last week behind us and the place burned down - we had nice burley firemen in our garden at 2 am with their hoses (pun intended) trying to reach it. Seriously I really hope you get some good news soon and they sort you out - it must be so frustrating being stuck in there - it's bad enough being in hospital at the best of times but without knowing when you're getting out it's rubbish! Fingers crossed for you x flowers

morethan2 Mon 22-May-17 12:21:02

I can't even grow grass Rubylady but we could have a cup of tea while watching and listening to the lovely warm breeze dry the washing(ps I'm trying to earn brownie points from difficult but much loved DiL by washing the bedding I've been using while house/dog/grandsons sitting while their on holiday. She'll find somthing I've done wrong, you mark my words)

Elrel Mon 22-May-17 12:10:39

Great to see you being so upbeat. If you pm me your address I'll send you a card x

mcem Mon 22-May-17 10:48:01

Sorry I don't have a garden you can 'wander through'. It's tubs and window boxes for me.
A few weeks ago I took a pic of the blossom on my little plum tree (a present to mark DS's wedding last year) and now I'm delighted that the baby plums are making an appearance.
Also the thriving little mystery plant which was the subject of discussion recently - GN's helped me identify it as oxalis.
The lilac is an offshoot from a scruffy old tree we took down 2 years ago. No flowers at all last year but look at it now.
Both my daughter and a close friend have spent a lot of time in hospital and they're cheered by the random selection of pic's they receive.
Wishing you well very soon.

Ruby, my garden is no Chelsea, but here are a couple of pictures for you

Auntieflo Mon 22-May-17 08:38:46

Ruby, what a lovely upbeat girl you are. For some reason I feel a bit teary this morning, but bless you for being positive, and coming on GN and posting. We are all rooting for you, so have a good day, and will try to find some garden pictures.

Hello Rubylady. I've just seen this thread by looking at active forums. I was wondering where you'd got to. Very best wishes for your op and for being home soon in your own bed.
May the collective force of Gransnet be with you. X

rubylady Mon 22-May-17 00:23:13

Thank you so much for your lovely and funny cards. I have put them in my bag because the nurses keep moving my stuff around and I don't want to lose them. I will put them up at home and PM you all.

Thanks Anya for your special message.

Xxx

With Chelsea starting and no garden to see from my cell, would any of you post some pictures of your own gardens in bloom and I can imagine I'm having a lovely cup of tea in it with you. Xxx
