I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

Hollow laugh Galen patient notes are computerised, yes, but in our exoerience only accessible within the hospital and the Health Care Authority e.g. The GP.
So the Royal Free has no access to MKH blood test results and vice versa unless they have been requested and sent.

jollyg Thu 01-Jun-17 14:16:48

Sorry galen you should have added a caveat all notes are computerised and should therefore be available at any hospital.,

I am sure you would wish it were so but it aint.

Poor Soop is trying to get to the bottom of her problems.

Total silence from her private surgeon.

Useually all notes are computerised and should therefore be available at any hospital

Hi Ruby, I've only just caught up with your post. I was going to wish you well for today, but see that your op has been postponed until next week. I know what it is, they can't do without you. Anyway, you are going to be sorted out and we all keep you in our thoughts. Chin up dear girl, and when it's all done and dusted, think of the high jinks you'll have. flowers wine and many {{{hugs}}}

What a saga you're having, ruby, good advice from ann try to get out in the fresh air and sunshine, it will all help to keep your spirits up and give you a bit of colour in your cheeks to be ready ready for the next hospital stay. It can't be easy to stay positive in your situation but it really is the best way forward. Thinking of you flowers

annsixty Wed 31-May-17 10:30:49

Well I hope Ruby having had you in their care for 5 long weeks they will have done all those tests again for their own more up to date records so please don't lose sleep over it.
Get out in this lovely sunshine and please try to relax. You need to be ok when that letter arrives xx

rubylady Wed 31-May-17 10:22:05

Feeling slightly better this morning, thank you all once again. ❤️

One thing I am troubled by is that the hospital doesn't have my notes from Bolton Hospital. Would my notes normally follow me to another hospital?

On my last visit at Bolton, after my GP had done the BNP blood test and I was there for an echocardiogram, my notes were nowhere to be seen, I haven't seen them since.

How can they work on me now if they have no idea of what has happened in the past? X

annodomini Wed 31-May-17 09:56:26

I feel really indignant on your behalf, ruby. I wish they would get a move on and sort you out. I know it's nice to be at home but at the moment you are in a kind of limbo, waiting and waiting. It's a lovely morning here and I hope it is the same with you, not so very far away. A dose of sunlight would do you a power of good if you can sit outside for a while.

cornergran Wed 31-May-17 09:18:40

ThinkLisa put my feelings for mr ruby. Hang on in there. Cleaners will get you neat and tidy tomorrow. Just rest and enjoy your fury family. We're all with you in spirit. Lots of hugs and love

morethan2 Wed 31-May-17 09:12:25

How's it going now ruby? Here's another little ((((hug))) to let you know your not forgotten in the midst of my hurly burry life. ?

Bellanonna Wed 31-May-17 08:28:48

Ah, Ruby, I've been thinking of you from my holiday here in Dorset. I was going to post a good luck message today but will wait till next week now. As Lisa said, enjoy your home comforts for now. Your little dog must have been delighted to see you, and of course you her. Im sorry this extra week leaves you with more time to think about things but it's only a few days after all and in a short while you'll be over it all and on the mend. Keep up the good humour and fighting spirit, come on here as often as you feel like it. I'm here in Swanage in a flat overlooking the sea with my (rather bossy) DD and two little DGDs. DD, a teacher, and DGD1 are on half term. The younger DGD is just 3 and very stubborn. It's been a tiring few days and I'll be glad to go home tomorrow, back to DH and whatever "normality" is. You try to relax in these few days, the house will be cleaned today. I don't have a son but I'm sure they're messy creatures. Lots of love Ruby and post again soon xx

Rinouchka Wed 31-May-17 08:28:01

Have just returned to GN after extensive workload and caught up with your news, ruby. Wanted to send you hugs and hopes that all works out well. Hope the attached raises a smile!

Gagagran Wed 31-May-17 08:15:49

Oh ruby so many on here are thinking of you and sending positive vibes to you - just hope that helps a bit.

You have almost got through the worst bit which is always the waiting and anticipation and the panic thoughts that crop up despite best efforts. The reality is never as bad as that so keep strong and remember "this too shall pass". You will feel so much better once they have sorted out your problem so focus on that.

Onwards and upwards and KBO! flowerssunshine

kittylester Wed 31-May-17 07:31:57

Exactly what Lisa said!

Chin up, ruby. Talk to us as much as you like. We are not actually there with you but at least that means we are not adding ro the mess! grin

Lisalou Wed 31-May-17 05:52:34

Gordon Bennett, they do love to mess you around in your hospital! I feel for you, but as has been said, keep buggering on, you will be there in no time, and at least waiting for the damn op at home means you can have cuddles from your furry companion(s), and food of your choice, as well as the little comforts provided by own bed, tv, and nobody telling you what to do.
As for your kids, pass on the phone numbers, and I will be happy to sort em!
Gentle hugs, sweet lady, and don't let the buggers get you down xx

Serkeen Wed 31-May-17 01:49:41

Hi rubylady I am a newbee but have picked up on your story because my husband is currently in hospital with heart issues. So a bit of a similar situation.

He had Endocarditis. We were told by the Docs that if he had his valve removed all would be well but his CRP markers are at 170.

As for being alone I am sure its a bit of an over sight by your children, you know what it's like when your young, negativity does not enter the mind. I am sure that they do love you and maybe if you reached out to them and explained that at the minute, you would appreciate them being around a little more.

I am on my own at the moment too as husband in hospital. The way I deal with it is distraction and not dwelling.

I do hope all goes well for you and that it will soon all be behind you and you can get on with your life,

rubylady Wed 31-May-17 01:32:12

Hi all, sorry for not posting earlier. My operation has been put off until next Thursday, 8th.

I came home on Friday, but have felt totally exhausted and have done nothing but sleep and try to get some good food down me. I can't believe that it is so draining being in hospital, I thought I felt ok but obviously not.

It also feels really weird, being home, sort of alien. I have got the crew back and am enjoying lots of cuddles and kisses from Maggie but it still felt strange, we had to get used to each other again, most weird, not what I was expecting at all.

The house was a tip, left very kindly by my son. Had to tidy a little but cleaners in on Thursday so they have said to live with it and they will sort it out.

It feels strange enough but to think that I have to go back in is making my stomach lurch. I'm not looking forward to any of this. I feel sick just thinking of it and I've had a headache since coming home too.

It feels too much to be going through when I am sat here on my own. I know you are all rooting for me but it doesn't half feel lonely right now. I'll go to bed and sleep it off. I don't know what I have done though to deserve being left by my family on my own like this. Especially my children. They both know what is happening. Have I really been that bad a mum?

Katek Mon 29-May-17 18:36:52

Hi Ruby-are you off on your home visit today?

Swanny Sun 28-May-17 22:28:57

Hello ruby, how are you? We've not heard from you for a couple of days, hope things are ok with you - or at least as good as possible smile

We've had a couple of hot days here in London, although it was also quite breezy yesterday afternoon. A few showers today and talk of thunder and lightning overnight - typical English summer, 2 fine days and a thunderstorm! Got some begonias planted today and dahlias - haven't grown them for a few years as they seem to be very attractive to earwigs, but I do like the flowers. Busy Lizzies waiting to be potted and some more geraniums, then I'll either run out of pots or space on the patio, not sure which will happen first grin

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you that all goes well this week. (((hugs)))

Auntieflo Sun 28-May-17 09:57:43

Hi Ruby, I was sorry to hear about Lily, but glad that you have a date with your surgeon, next Thursday, and we wish you well. Here are a couple of pics of our front garden, paeonies and lilies.

kittylester Sun 28-May-17 07:50:05

Thank you for updating us ruby. So sorry to hear about Lily. Chin up, keep buggering on - you are nearly there now.

NfkDumpling Sun 28-May-17 07:21:26

Brilliant news that you've got a date and a good surgeon. It's better to wait and get the right bloke and his team but so very frustrating. Make sure you put a large traffic cone on your bed when you get your day release with a 'This slot is taken' sign!

shysal Fri 26-May-17 18:34:36
