Which is your favourite month?

October for me, everything turns golden and mellow! Misty mornings followed by gentle sunshine....and my birthday month too!

June summer days the garden looking lovely and my birthday

I don't have a favourite month, but I love the spring. Starts when I see the first snowdrop and from then on everything starts coming to life again. Glorious.

Cherrytree59 Easter is my birthday weekend too! But my 13 year old GD goes back to school on Easter Tuesday, which is my actual birthday, so no major celebrations on that day as she lives with me. I'm disappointed as it will be a Big Birthday (well, 65 ) and I like us to be away for my special day if possible.
I love April too with all the cherry blossom, daffodils, baby lambs and blue tits nesting in our box. We are off to the Lake District in early April though, so will get my fill of lambs and beautiful daffodils.

Most have lovely things to enjoy. but hate November and January, and not till mid-February do I feel winter's at its end. If I had to choose, I think it would be May (birthdays of both DH and myself), early summer is in sight, longer days, green everywhere, not much likelihood of late frosts, so can hope to lick that b- garden into shape this year, two bank holidays when can face spring cleaning etc!

September and early October. We seem to get a soft golden light in October. Not so keen on July August, they never seem to live up to the promise of 'outdoor living'.

Cherrytree59 although January is not my favourite month, that is April, I do like January as it means we are a very long way from the next bl...y Christmas.

I like August, warm and I get a break before the schools go back

March is my favourite because it's the month the clocks go forward - oh those wonderful lighter evenings after the darkness of winter! But also because the summer and all the (hoped for!) wonderful warm weather and sunshine is just around the corner, something to look forward to. The reality of summer is often a let down, so let me enjoy the spring when I can still have my hopes and dreams before they are dashed

Just out of interest do any GNetters favour November or January for other than it being a birthday or anniversary month?

Cannot decide between April and December.

October, the worst of any hot weather we ever get is over (hate the heat) and the colours are changing to beautiful reds/oranges/yellows. Nights drawing in, work in the garden starting to come to an end.

June because of the light evenings, long days and colour in the garden.

August. There's something calm about it. It's often cool, wet and damp, which I like!

Where I live, the traffic is bad and August traffic is much lighter due to school holidays.

September is mine - for the same reasons as Chewbacca gives. Last year's September was a bit of a let-down though. If that happens again, I may change my preference to March, as it's such a lovely day today and the birds are getting more vociferous.

I'd probably opt for May because it's all in front of us, the summer that is and my first child was born in May. I like some of December the twinkling lights, our local town really went for the German Christmas market with lots of stalls, a big Christmas tree outside the bank and the main church in the market square looked wonderful inside, all in all it was quite magical. I also think September early Autumn can be very nice, although not as good as being poised to look forward to the summer rather than leaving it behind and I don't like the shorter days and darker nights. Gloomy

October, season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. We were married in October and spent our honeymoon in the lakes, the autumn colours were glorious.

I like December, when the Christmas lights start to go up, and you can pass houses with their curtains still open and see the cosiness inside, plus of course the excitement of Father Christmas, and remembering all those friends with whom you have been out of touch, and insist on sending you Christmas cards.

April for me with all the promise of what is to come. Lovely photo hilda!!

I am with you chickenlegs March feels like we are coming out of hibernation, only yesterday i saw a neighbour who i haven't seen since December. The village is coming back to life it seems

May here too! The light, and the vividness of the colours of the landscape are at their best in May. It is my favourite fishing month too, when trout are really switched on to the fly life in the rivers and lakes! Bring it on!

....May blossom out everywhere and bluebells.

May, definitely, warm weather with the promise of Summer to come.

June, when the garden is looking great and there is still plenty of summer ahead.
