I have just spent most of the afternoon looking at the Living wills Health and Welfare information.

I am not sure if the "Free Will months" offer includes Living wills as in LPA Health and Welfare.

Not available where I live either.

Hopehope, you're welcome. It costs around £300 to do a will so we're going to use the offer.

I had a look at the free wills link, it really is a good idea, and we should get around to sorting this out. Not available in my area at the moment though. I will keep checking back . Thanks for posting it

I've put it in my Power of Attourney, very clearly that if I cannot make the decision for myself, my appointed attourneys are not to allow any life prolonging medication, indeed no medication other than pain relief. This is a legal document where a Living Will is not, so I believe this is the way to go!

Thanks for that fiorentina51. It was helpful. My worry is not so much how people would care for me. That's not what I want. If I can't live a reasonably independent life in my own home, I would rather not be around. I think it's more about not having treatment to prolong my life if I had a severe stroke or debilitating illness. I'm not being morbid but it's because I'm enjoying my life with my DH and my independence so much that I want to ensure that I don't linger around at the end. I don't have children of my own but do have a wonderful step son who I love to bits but could not face being a burden to him and my dear grandchildren.
