Have to say I laughed at the thread headline, why am I being chased by cows? I'm sorry but I was imagining someone running down country lanes being chased by herds of cows . Still makes me snigger thinking about it.

Try downloading Ghostery, free and stops all those ads & pop ups. Google them to see how they make their living & link to download. Recommended to me by an IT expert and it's been great.

At some time you have clicked to see more on a particular site and have not noticed that you have agreed to add your email to a list of customers. All that is in small type that you have to look for very carefully. Then look at their T&Cs and Privacy pages because somewhere there will be a box for you to tick that will exclude your name from their list. They are not using your email address but they have sold their list to others who are keen to get email addresses to use for marketing and spam.

Use an ad blocker like abp. It's free and blocks ads everywhere except Facebook.

Maybe there is someone with the same name as you? I hate it when they flash up something you have shown an interest in. I hate getting emails telling me about their latest products too. If I want something I will buy it. If they are too pushy I definitely WILL NOT!

Dare I say it, I was once chased by cows in a field. I was saved by a little stream which I managed to jump over, but it stopped the cows in their tracks. Really scary!

My DH says maybe it's an adult version of being scared by heifer-lumps.

I do find cows are much more aggressive in their marketing these days.
