Had an accident that is. We've been worried about him still driving at 89 - as mentioned on a previous thread - but yesterday he had an accident. He pulled out onto a roundabout and was hit by a car which he swears blind wasn't there when he pulled out. He's fine, no physical injuries and other driver also uninjured, but his car is badly damaged. He's been very lucky. Police and ambulance services were involved and police are questioning whether he should still be driving. I think now would be a good time to inform DVLA or do police do this if they have concerns about an elderly driver? We thought it might put him off but he's trying to sort out a courtesy car so he can go for his shopping.
